Hi everyone. So basically I came off the pill last Saturday. I had my 7 day pill break but never bothered to go back on after the break. We've decided to start trying. All of last week we had a lot of lock down fun haha. I know it was early days but I took a test this morning and it's negative. Now I know it can take women a long time to get pregnant after being on the pill. But It can happen straight away for a few as well. I have just been to the loo and tmi I know, but I had very light spotting. Could this be an implantation bleed for signs of early pregnancy? Or could I be getting a natural period already? I'm totally new to all of this as we are trying for our first child so I'm sorry if I sound nieve. Any help on this would be appreciated as my partner bless him doesn't understand the mechanics of a woman's uterus Haha. Has anyone else experienced this? Or can anyone give me any advice? Thank you all in advance and happy Easter 😘😘💜💜

Far too early to test. You were still covered against pregnancy in your pill free week. Or was last Saturday the end of the pill free week? It might be worth waiting for your period to return before starting TTC as then it's easier to date the pregnancy.

Yes it was the end of my pill free week last Saturday, and we have been trying since xxx

I am in the same boat, took my last pill on March 26th then had my week break so have effectively been pill free since Friday 3rd April and have been trying since. However I am unsure if I have ovulated yet and have given up with the OPK's already as they are stressing me out. If I had any spotting now like you I'd be monitoring to see if it stays light and goes away after a couple of day's. If it does it most definitely could be implantation bleeding.

Good luck! X

When you come off the pill you usually have a “withdrawal bleed” which resembles a period and after that your natural cycle has a chance to begin.

When you’re on the pill your ovaries are completely suppressed so there are no eggs just sitting around ready to go when you come off it.

It takes most women 12-14 days from the start of a cycle (day 1 of proper bleeding) to prepare an egg for ovulation.

It then takes 12-14 days from ovulation (and conception) to get a positive test.

So if you’re very lucky and everything gets going quickly after stopping the pill you might be testing for pregnancy in 4 weeks time.
It’s good to manage your expectations because it can leave you feeling unrealistically disappointed otherwise x

You won't t even have ovulated yet and you only get a positive test about 2 weeks after that so you're far too early with your testing.

Perhaps start using OPKs this week to spot your ovulation?

Thank you all for your replies! As you can tell I'm totally new to this but I'm learning as I go along. Hope you are all staying well and safe xxx
