Shorter cycles the past 2 months...any idea why?

I had the Mirena coil removed at the end of September 2019. I had had a Mirena for 13 years!
Since then I have had 28/29 day cycles until last month when it dropped to 24 days and 23 days this month!
Has anyone got any idea why? I'm 37 and generally fit and well.

Mine did the same at 38, periods stopped dead at 43!

Guess it's the start of perimenopause. Get HRT as soon as possible.

Is that the only thing that would cause it? Could stress?
If it's peri menopause then I guess my hopes of conceiving are pointless 😢

Oh sorry, I didn't see it was conception.

Yes, I do think it sounds like that. But I conceived first month of trying at 38, doesn't mean at all you can't conceive. In fact, there is often a burst of fertility around this time.

Looking back though, knowing what I know now, I am sure it was the beginning of peri. My cycles went from 28/29 to 26 to 24 and then 23 etc... over about 5 years. Then just stopped.

Good luck, shorter cycles can be a good thing. You are still fertile! Menopause isn't until 2 years of no period... you are very probably just at the start of a very long process Smile and you are young.

I repeat, it started for me at 38 and I conceived within that first 6 months... go fo it.

That makes me feel better. Thank you @BillieEilish I'll keep trying then. You're right, as long as I'm still having periods I have a chance. It just seems so young for this to be happening.

@krazipan glad you feel better, there is absolutely no reason you can't conceive. Sorry, I am just also still getting over the shock of an early menopause. But is does happen a lot more than people think.

You're lucky as you've had a warning!

DSis started going through peri at 44. She got pregnant at 45 from a one night stand Shock !!!

I have to be honest that early menopause is something I've never considered. My mum has my sister at 38 and didn't go through menopause until 52/53 so I never thought about it.

I'm not going to get stressed if it doesn't happen but will keep going until it's physically impossible. Thank you @BillieEilish 💐

Worth going to docs maybe anyway? Just in case. As it is young. But it isn't menopause for years yet Grin it's just shorter, lighter periods.

Ah, well my mother went through it at 40, as far as I can remember judging by her behaviour etc. She didn't tell me, I can just guess, looking back.

So, if your DMum went through it at the average age of early 50's it may just be a blip for you.

I was just so surprised, I do not have a single friend who still has periods in their late 40's not one! It was a shock to me too.

Good luck and don't stress!
