6 week scan

I've just had a six week scan, in which we saw the little Bambino who has a strong heartbeat. However, there was an area of bleeding underneath the sac. Although the midwives assured me this is fairly common, I am now increasingly worried. Did anyone have this on a scan and everything be okay?

I had a big bleed at 9 weeks (after seeing heartbeat on two earlier scans) and was convinced it was a miscarriage. When I was scanned, baby was squirming around but they said that there was still a small pocket of blood so I may bleed some more.

I didn't and at my 12 week scan it had gone! I'm now 17 weeks and had some brown discharge a few days ago, when my period would be due. I never had this with my first pregnancy and it's unnerving isn't it! The Midwife has said it's very common.

I hope that helps a little!

I had some brown/light pink bleeding at 11 weeks and when scanned had 2 areas of bleeds one which was right next to the sac! I was told this is really common and usually happens at implantation but can take a while for the old blood to leak out and for a lot of people it doesn't at all it just reabsorbs. Try not to worry!
I'm now 38+2 and had a pretty normal pregnancy!

Yes I had that on an early scan, they said it usually gets absorbed which it did and I didn’t have any bleeding or problems.

It's called a Subchorionic Haematoma. I've had one, mine was very large though and didn't end well but they are very common. I was also bleeding continuously. Good luck x
