Have I missed my LH surge?

So today is CD14, and noticed a little watery stretchy discharge this morning and yesterday I had a much darker OPK test than I have rest of the month and had some twinges bottom right of my belly button on and off all day.

But this afternoon I've just done an OPK test and it's negative? We DTD yesterday morning will I have caught it? We have been doing it every 2nd day so due again tomorrow to DTD. Stresssing me out :( have attached a pic of my OPK yesterday and one this afternoon!

Should we still DTD tomorrow?

Sounds like you might have! Once it gets that dark is recommended you test twice a day in case your surge is in the evening. You seem to have DTD enough not to actually have missed it though so I wouldn't worry too much :)

They are both not dark enough to count as positive. I would say that means you have not yet ovulated.

@Friendsofmine yeah I know, it's more the fact it's gone from semi dark to light again I think I may have missed it in the time I didn't test. Fingers crossed :)

The generally rule of thumb is that if you get the surge in the morning the next day is classed as ovulation day and if you get the surge in the evening then it's not the next day but the one after that classed as ovulation day. So DTD yesterday is perfect timing

I wouldn't bother with DTD tomorrow. Sperm has to go through a little known process called capacitation before it's even capable of fertilising an egg and that can take up to 12 hours. Most eggs are really only viable for around 12 hours - lots of people will say 24 hours but that's the very limit and most fertilisation takes place in the first 12 hours so you want sperm to be waiting foe the egg not the other around especially as it needs to go through capacitation first.

Most pregnancies happen from the 2 days BEFORE ovulation than the day of ovulation or the day after x

@Juno231 fingers crossed! So stressful, praying we have caught it :)

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted that's loads of help thank you :) I'll keep testing OPK daily incase but I'm fairly certain it happened yesterday as I felt those pains all day on and off. Just so nervous incase we missed it but hopefully we have covered it :)
