Low progesterone

Has anyone investigated the possibility of low progesterone?

I’ve only been TTC since January but I’m starting to wonder if this might be a problem for me.

I’ve never been on hormonal contraceptives so I’m continually having periods and know my cycles like clockwork. They vary slightly in length (24-28 days) but otherwise I’ve always had them regularly and without spotting. The only exception being the odd tiny spotting exactly mid cycle some months which I assume is ovulation.

Since DTD unprotected for the first time in January, I’ve found I’ve started to spot more. Usually the week before AF but sometimes mid cycle too and for days rather than just the one tiny spot when wiping.

I had a chemical pregnancy on my first attempt in January so I thought that was a good sign of us being able to conceive and that one of the following cycles we’d manage but all I’ve had is 2 cycles of negatives since with a lot more spotting.

Since we have a pandemic happening right now I’m going to pause for a couple of months and not visit the GP to investigate, but I was hoping some of you might have some insight for me in the mean time that I can look into for when TTC again in a couple of months?

It's really hard to tell as you've only been trying for such a short time...

How long is your luteal phase?

I went to the GP after 2 chemicals in 6 months and veryyyy short luteal phase. My GP ran bloods and my progesterone is low however she said there is absolutely nothing they will do for low progesterone until the 12 month trying mark... After 12 months I will be referred to the fertility clinic but for now, I just have to wait and deal with it.
