Why are pregnant healthcare workers under 28 weeks still being made to work?

Rant alert - sponsored by Hormones.

I've just had an email from work saying that because I'm under 28 weeks pregnant, I am neither vulnerable or shielded. Okay. Fine. But I'm also a healthcare worker, in an extremely high risk environment. Why is my husband's safety (sorry DH) prioritised over mine and our babies? He is now off for three weeks on full pay. I am at work 3-4 nights per weeks, in constant contact with clients.
If I catch Covid 19, how am I going to treat it? Honey and lemon?!

Sigh. Thank you for listening.

You should be taking extra precautions to stay away from others as per government and scientific advice! Pregnant ladies have been categorised as vulnerable alongside those with underlying health conditions and over 70s. It's crystal clear so I'm amazed that you're being expected to put yourself and your baby at risk.

I'm 22 weeks and although I realise there's no evidence to suggest pregnant ladies are more affected by covid, no employer has the right to take that risk. There are good reasons that people who know what they're talking about have said we should be particularly careful until more is known.

I would speak to your doctor and try to get some sort of note that says you should follow guidelines from experts.
