Hi everyone, so I’m feeling extremely anxious right now as I’ve been struggling to conceive and I started some light bleeding a few days after my period has finished and right after I had sex (sorry about tmi) and I did a quick google search and it’s saying that when you bleed in between periods and after sex it’s a sign of PID which is literally my biggest worry, anyone know if it could be anything else??? Very stressed and concerned

Hi, I have been TTC for a while and have had ‘spotting my mud cycle every month since coming off the contraceptive pill (cerastes). I have had blood tests, hysterocopy, scans, smear tests etc and they cannot find a reason for the spotting. When tracking on a calendar I noticed I tend to spot before and after (although annoyingly also sometimes during) ovulation, which is apparently normal so maybe try tracking for a few months to see if there is a pattern to it. Also hormonal imbalances such as too much oestrogen can cause spotting as it can result in your uterine lining becoming thicker than normal. I understand your worry with regards to TTC as I have also often thought there must be a connection between the spotting and trouble conceiving, but all my fertility tests have found no problems. The only thing they did suggest to me was to lose weight as being overweight can also cause high oestrogen. Hope this helps Smile

Only a medic can diagnose PID, MsBrown. As soon as doctors surgeries are up and running normally again, go to your GP and get a referral to a gynaecologist.

It isn't that uncommon to have slight bleeding as you have described and doesn't automatically mean you have PID or even anything wrong with you, it just happens sometimes.

Please don't be stressed about it especially if you are well otherwise. Now is probably not the time to be starting a family anyway. Review the situation in a few months.

Take care.
