Pretty much as the title says. It says you can test six days before missed period but I'm nervous. I could test of Sunday but I'm so nervous. I'm second guessing ever niggle I'm feeling.

I havent used them but I would say if you have spares and want to start testing then test away! I know they are quite expensive in regards to tests so maybe get yourself a batch of cheapies off amazon or ebay to test with for now, good luck:)

Sparkle187 · 14/03/2020 11:51

I used a couple clearblue early detection a few weeks ago that gave me false positives. I agree with above use some cheapies first. FRER is good for early results but are also expensive.x

Sunshinedelight1287 · 14/03/2020 14:29

I didn't think false positives was a thing? I feel like I know nothing about pregnancy.

I've always used them and they've worked great. I tested last week with some tesco cheap tests and followed it up with 2 digitals over the next 2 days, all positive and correct Smile

Splodgetastic · 14/03/2020 15:26

I had a false positive with one, despite the perceived wisdom that this does not happen, but maybe I was just unlucky.

MummyT13 · 14/03/2020 16:15

@sunshinedelight1287 Just take another test babe. It's the only way to rule out a false positives straight away

Morgan12 · 14/03/2020 16:23

I don't like them. First Response is much better.

BuffaloCauliflower · 15/03/2020 08:24

First Response Early Response (FRER) are the best ones by far, only ones worth buying really. Whenever anyone is asking about a faint line advice is always ‘get a FRER’ so might as well just start with those.

bingbangbing · 15/03/2020 08:31

Just wait till your period is late. Any cheapie will work then.

Daffodil21 · 15/03/2020 08:33

I agree with others - use cheapies first then if you get a line or a questionable line on one of those then follow up with a clear blue/FR.
I did this and clear blue was reliable, but I wasn't tracking my cycle that month (I was tired of doing so!) so I'm not sure if it was actually early or not, so I guess not much help to you!

I've spent so much money on the expensive tests and then sometimes use them when it's slightly too early, after promising myself that I won't, or the first day I can, and waste them!

Amazon are selling Ovaview early detection tests. I think they are normally ,£6 odd for 6, but atm they are £3.99 for two packs of six. These are the ones I use before an expensive one and I did have a faint line on them a couple of days before my CB (I dismissed it at the time though!)
I've only ever used clear blue but first response seems to be the favourite on here.

Don't worry about not feeling clued up, in a couple of months you'll be an expert! How long have you been TTC? Is this your first?

stairgates · 15/03/2020 10:06

False positives are very common so take your first few couple of positives and pssibles. The best/craziest bits about the internet cheapies is the is it isnt it a line obsessing, you will find yourself holding your test in every possible light situation in the house and then placing it on every possible color background to see if the possible wet line/shadow has any color to it as its the color you are looking for:) A tip from me is dont throw your tests away straight away, I have had a negative before, left the test on the back of the toilet, forgot about it and come back to a dried colored line baby to prove:) You are not meant to do this, you are supposed to see a line in 5 mins or discard the test but for fun try hiding it for a few hours. Post some pics of your tests if you can and we can line obsess with you!!

Hi. Old thread but still giving this a shot as I have no photo to share. I used CB 6 day early test. I did not see any blue line however, the control area where the line is to appear, has a surge of blue appearing in a wierd angled pattern (the area is supposed to stay white if not pregnant)

I’m thinking of the test stick itself was not ok or the blue wierd pattern means it did detect something?

FrazzledCareerWoman · 25/10/2021 09:31

Jumping on this... clearblue issues... I think these are evap lines as they appeared long after the time limit? 2 tests 12 hours apart . The lines are thick and have colour. What do you think

Is this a positive or Evap lines?!? Seen so many contradicting things on internet!! When I had my first the line was very dark so I’m not sure if this is Evap line
