This is my first ever post. I've been off my contraception pill since December 2018 but myself and my fiancé didn't begin to actively try until June 2019. For the first 6 months it really didn't bother me I thought we'll get there when we get there! We've recently bought our first home a lovely spacious house all ready to go! Something that we could grow into. Recently we've looked at camper vans and saying 'won't that be lovely then we can take our children away at the weekends'.... then the my period rises its ugly head! Now I'm sat here extremely upset thinking what's the point! We've waited a long time to save the money to get ourselves financially stable to have a family but nothing is happening!

@Georgie31 Hi OP. Please don't lose hope. We got our BFP on Saturday after 18 months of trying! We'd been making our way through sperm testing, hormone testing and I had a laparoscopy and dye test operation on 29 Jan. absolutely everything was completely normal.

Sometimes it just takes time, very frustrating and upsetting. I'd convinced myself it was just not going to happen. It will, just give it time. We had stopped using OPKs and just dtd whenever we wanted to, trying to get 3 in a week.

Now hearing you all of your different stories and different routes through this TTC malarkey. I should feel blessed really. However girls you might have to help me with the shortened words and initials I'm new to this site and not sure what all of them mean xx

Hi OP
We’ve been ttc for over a year now and have been actively monitoring ovulation taken vitamins etc for over 6 months. I had my bloods and an internal ultra sound done late last year and all seamed fine so without doing any other tests have been trying to improve the quality of my eggs, red it starts with the egg and then changed the vitamins I was taking 2 months ago to include cq10, alpha lipoid acid and changed to proceive max women. I also started seeing an acupuncturist (had 2 sessions but has now stopped due to covid19) and she also advise different things to eat at different points in my cycle. My dp was due to get sa which is now also on hold due to the current situation. So given there’s nothing we can do about that at the moment we’ll just keep ttc and have fun with it. Xx

Positevibes · 08/04/2020 13:16

I don't know if this will help anyone but I use the clue app and really like it. We've been trying for 7 months and I had a chemical pregnancy in Feb that's when I started using the app. I also started taking folic acid. Fingers crossed for everyone 🌈

Ickleme8 · 08/04/2020 13:22

@Ails826
I’ve only tried OPKs and temp charting
How are you blood tracking? And how are you finding it? Xx

cosmo30 · 08/04/2020 13:34

We've been actively trying for 3 years now. I've got pcos, just finished 6 months of clomid. Nothing. Now on metformin while waiting for ovarian drilling ( obviously it's been cancelled )
Hang in there. I know it's so annoying when people say "it will happen" but we've got to stay positive!!

Ails826 · 08/04/2020 13:40

@ickleme8
Umm I hated blood tests at the beginning but now to be honest its fine and accurate i stopped doing OPK and temping and everything and now just rely on the blood tests and just note it down. I actually got that through my doctor but now I see a fertility specialist probsbly because i annoyed our doctor so much woth being so worried about everything
I also get an ultrasounf they measure the follicles and then call you that day and tell you to have sex 3 days in a row
We also found ir better because there is so so so much info out there we were loke are we having sex too much should we have sex everynother day it was a chore we wernt having a great time and now we carry on as nornal and then have sex 3 days n a row once a month haha

Georgie31 · 08/04/2020 15:35

Hi girls can I ask what OPK is?

OP posts:
Ickleme8 · 08/04/2020 16:52

@Ails826 we live 90mins from the nearest fertility clinic so think I’ll need to stick to the opk for the time being. Know exactly what you mean by too much/ too little sex so much different information out there

@Georgie31opk is ovulation predictor kit

Georgie31 · 08/04/2020 17:14

I use ovulation tests but never used a kit before can any advise me on the best one?

OP posts:
Ickleme8 · 08/04/2020 17:48

@Georgie31 they are the same thing I think opk is just the technical term and abreviation people tend to use. I have 3 different ones all of them are from clear blue I have mainly been using the digital one (purple one) as it shows high fertility days, flashing smiley face, by detecting estrogen levels and peak days, static smiley face, by detecting lh. I also bought bought the one that connects to the app but couldn’t get the app on my phone. I used mine today and it’s the first time I’ve ever had a flashing smiley face, usually I see either a circle or a static smiley face only and have been using them since September

Georgie31 · 22/04/2020 19:29

So I've started using the clue blue digital yesterday was false but today a smiley face!! It's day 15 of my cycle. Obvs we got dtd this morning. Not sure if we should again tonight or wait till tomorrow? I've also had pink spotting today which isn't usually normal for me, it's happened once before during ovulation.
