Hi.
Ok I'm getting paranoid that it's me that is the problem when it comes to fertility, so I've stocked up on a shed load of vitamins and supplements to try and improve egg quality and generally get my cycles back into sync...... coz as I've found out, they can last up to 50 days sometimes.
Still blaming the randomness on the fact I was on cerelle for 8 and a half years and I'm 40 next month....... I'm guessing all this has some kind of effect.
Been trying to get pregnant for 8 months now, so I'm willing to try anything now, I've even got the OH taking fertility supplements lol.
What have u taken and has it helped?!
Would love some feedback on this

I take a general multivitamin, coQ 10 and folic acid. I also take turmeric but that's because I have endometriosis and it helps with inflammation.

Do you.have any underlying issues ie PCOS, endometriosis...?

CrazyFooLady · 16/02/2020 15:06

@Mlou32 nope no underlying conditions other than time isn't on my side and obviously taking the pill for too long.
OH has delayed ejaculation problems, but it's easily overcome and not really an issue. He also vapes, so not sure if that will cause any issues with Sperm etc x

I (and my husband) took all the supplements recommended in the ItStartsWithTheEgg programme (apart from DHEA, which I would have added later on if not successful) including those for people with insulin resistance and endometriosis.

We also used a fertility lubricant during sex and I used the OvuSense ovulation internal thermometer device thingy that you wear overnight to track your internal body temperature.

No idea which, if any, of these worked but after two years of unsuccesfully trying and despite all medical odds stacked against me - I am currently 19 weeks pregnant!

firstimemamma · 16/02/2020 15:14

I didn't think you were meant to take fish oil due to vitamin a levels but I may be wrong.

pinknsparkly · 16/02/2020 15:16

I think, given your erratic cycle lengths, adding in some sort of testing for ovulation, such as OvuSense or ovulation test strips is likely to be the most beneficial to you!

OK here goes -

CoQ10 for egg quality, Vitamin E, L'arginine and raspberry leaf tea (until ovulation) for lining thickness (mine was quite thin), vitamin B complex to extend my 10 day luteal phase (didn't work but I'm vegetarian so I thought it couldn't hurt), calcium with vitamins D & K and calcium with magnesium.
Oh - and a prenatal with folic acid. At recent Dr. appointment, they specifically asked about vitamin D so I think it must be quite important.

Also had DH on a male pre-natal and vitamin E. We had been trying for 11 months after an MMC and taking this concoction for 2 - 3 months, 38 yo and just had BFP. Just hoping it sticks.

DH sperm analysis also improved a lot.

It could all be coincidence though....

Also used OPKs and natural cycles.

Good luck!

I'm taking boots conception. And I'm trying shatavari up until ovulation. (As opposed to agnes castus).

I tried the b50 vits but they gave me terrible stomach aches.

CrazyFooLady · 16/02/2020 18:44

@firstimemamma I was a bit sceptical at first too, but found this out from Dr Google lol

Ditto for CoQ10, and you may want to look into the quality of everything you are taking. For example, CoQ10 that is water and fat-soluble absorbs better.
