Hi all, I'm not a regular poster but I am a regular reader. Looking for some advice from you ladies in the know. We have just decided the last few weeks to ttc numbers 2. First baby was a total surprise, a glorious surprise who is now 7. So the background story. Last period was 12th January, average cycle of 30 days and we dtd on the 31st January.

Forgive me now as I'm not up to the mark on tracking ovulation dates etc as we've on just decided to start all of this. Is there a chance this month could be the month? I understand it doesn't always happen straight away, I would be shocked if it did. I haven't tested because I don't want to become obsessive about it. My next period is due 10/02.

Thank you! Smile

Entirely dependant on your ovulation date, if you ovulated on cd16 with a 14 day LP then you would have ovulated on 28th Jan. So there's a very small chance that having sex 3 days later could have caught the egg, but it's unlikely as the egg only survives for 24 hours and having sex in the run up to ovulation is more successful.

However if you didn't ovulate until cd17/18 you're in with slightly more of a chance, again not as good as if you'd had sex before that date though.

I wouldn't count yourself out just yet. I suppose you could start by taking a test? You aren't too far out so wouldn't be testing too early?
