Hi Hun
Just wanted to say I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your DH as the deadline looms . Hope he lands a deal.

BTW - I've also been known to search your name even when I'm just lurking to see if you've had any good news .

Here's hoping lots of good news is on its way.
love C xx

Ready · 02/09/2007 17:30

Haha!! Glad it is not just me then!

Thankfully the deadline didn't affect him, as he is a free-agent - still not fixed up. Which is scary! But fingers are crossed.

I've been having no end of problems with my broadband, and almost missed this message!

Hope that things go well with you in October, I will be thinking of you

Chocolatedays · 02/09/2007 18:08

Hope something comes along soon. Really hoping for you being a 'free agent' could lead to interesting opportunities - our local side has just been taken over but seemed to have pretty much missed the deadline to get anyone good in - I think you'd love West London!

I'm so sorry you're still with me on the Conception threads - shall we make a pact to graduate soon?!

OP posts:
cityangel · 02/09/2007 23:29

Hey Ready and Chocolate, I've lost track of the threads to find you on and miss chatting.

Very despondent at the moment despite good tests. Could not be surrounded by more babies at the moment (other people's)

How are you guys?

Ready · 03/09/2007 15:22

Choc - I'll move just about anywhere West London would be fine Think your local team might just be out of DH's league - if it Chelsea
I am sorry that we are still here, too... but we have to keep believing that we will graduate soon!!! We can do it!!!

City - There you are. I kept going to find the chartspotters thread. Was starting to think I was a thread killer . How are you petal? Sorry you are feeling down despite the test results. I think that's natural though, negative results would at least give a reason. This way there is no explanation other than just a matter of time. Which is frustrating as there is nothing more we can do. I'm with you chick!

Ready · 03/09/2007 15:23

*it's

Chocolatedays · 03/09/2007 19:06

Hi City - good to hear from you too - sorry you are a bit down - are the test showing up anything or have you been lumbered with "Unexplained" like me?!
Everyone I know seems to be having babes in November... my bloke and I went to NZ in Feb so that's why me nust have missed buy Head and Shoulders get a Baby free offer in Boots.

Ready - Chelsea?! Bleugh. My nearest team is Fulham though the team I was referring to is QPR - they've just been taken over but not really in time to use the transfer deadline... a free agent could be what they need!! (of course I'm biased cos I'd love to have you move down here!)

OP posts:
cityangel · 03/09/2007 21:33

Hey watch it chocyQPR CFC are my lot! How is life with you? Tests are fine so should be happy just like explanations in life...

Ready how are you chick. Tell DH to move you to London. Then you won't have to get the train half way for a Christmas beer!

Where are all the old thread bunnies?

Ready · 04/09/2007 11:48

Choc - I would be very happy to move back South. We have lived in the North for over 2 years now, and it is nice where we live, but I still stick out like a sore thumb with my, as they call it, "posh accent"
PMSL at you missing out on the headandshoulders offer... I missed that one too. Darn it. Very hopeful for you in Oct.

City - It would be great to live further south again, but I have given up speculating where we will end up. Sigh. It will happen when it happens, hopefully soon.
I am with you, totally, I am someone who needs an explanation - and not getting one is frustrating! We must keep trying!
The old thread bunnies... have gone and graduated, well nearly all of them, and the thread just petered out. Are you going back to temping and monitoring?

cityangel · 05/09/2007 00:13

Hey Ready the uncertainty must be difficult but I expect you're used to it.

I don't think I'll go back to temping unless fertility treatment requires close monitoring of the cycle. Simply because dh seemed to take it a daily reminder of infertility. I will go back to monitoring if I ever remember to turn the damn thing on in the first 5 days of the month.

Trying to keep dh happy with the stupid doc recommendation to give it all up is frustrating. I am grumpy to have a working piece of LH predicting kit sitting redundant because the doctors seem to subscribe to old wives tales.

The ever 2/3 day rule has worked very well for our sex lives so I'm sticking with that as the best plan for now.

I am on the list for the HSG, apparently its meant to increase chances in the 3 months after... not sure.... we will have to wait ages on the NHS for it anyway.

Right off to hit the sack :0) Had a nice day off with the tube strike.

Ready · 06/09/2007 11:50

City - I thought about you with the tube strike actually... do you have to take it as annual leave or is it just accepted?
It's a shame that your bit of kit is sitting redundant. I of course hope that you don't need to use it again, and this is your cycle
I think every 2/3 days is what most doctors suggest - the key thing being throughout the entire cycle, not just the middle phase. Although my GP said once to concentrate on the early and middle, so it shows how different the advice is.
I bet you were miffed with the football at the weekend - Villa Park is certainly Jose's bogey ground!

Did either of you see Super Nanny last night? 2 sets of twins under 5 - WOW!

cityangel · 07/09/2007 01:18

I saw it advertised but missed it!

Yes the weekend score left hubbie and bro miserable no amount of Carling seeming to fix the problem!

It's my own stupid fault with the CBFM if you don't reset it at the right time of day in the first 5 days of your cycle you can't use it and I forgot when away! Still I don't feel as guilty as last month when I secretly used it at work.

Perhaps I should have changed my name for the general question as now everyone seems to think I piss myself for fun Never mind it is an information sharing forum....

So how are you? How is dh? Have a good weekend all

cityangel · 07/09/2007 01:22

Oh yeah tube strike most people have the ability to work from home or could agree to make up the hours. The contractors all made it in. I walk to work anyway so it didn't effect me. The bastards gave up early so it wasn't as bad for my colleagues. But at canary wharf the Jubilee line and DLR are key and they both ran.
For some people its a days pay lost, hospital appointments canceled and birthdays ruined so it isn't ideal

Chocolatedays · 07/09/2007 19:20

BTW CityAngel - are you trying acupuncture?

OP posts:
Ready · 08/09/2007 11:29

City - Oops. I saw your thread. I didn't have anything to add, so thought I would just smile... some of the posters are a tad extreme... MN scares me sometimes
I wouldn't worry about conception being affected by secretions, as far as I can see, it's a naturally occuring thing for some women, and wouldn't affect the sperm.
How are you feeling? I understand you searching for answers as to why you haven't conceived yet. I am the same. I wonder if the fact that my mum smoked when she was pregnant with me has killed all my eggs. (hug)

Choc - Have you had acupuncture? What is it like? I am considering some alternative therapies when we move. Reflexology is something I am keen to try as well. How are you?

Chocolatedays · 08/09/2007 13:07

I've had acu with 3 practictioners - and the one I have now has specialised in gynae and IVF. The others were generalists and - on reflection - not experienced enough in fertility.
I'd suggest you ask the acu if he/she has any specialisms / specific training in any areas. As I understand it - the most expert practioners are either specialists in dermatology or gynae.

My current one practises in various clinics in London - and was the first to really offer understanding of where my problems may lie (I have a short LP ... and interestingly his concern was the first half of my cycle as improving that would help the second half) - all your temp charting will also be valuable insight.
For me I think it helps ... but then again I'm still on the conception threads......!

OP posts:
Ready · 08/09/2007 19:03

How long have you been with the specialist practitioner? Do they give you timelines or expectations? Obviously they can't make any promises, but I wonder if they have a general guide to this sort of thing?

I have been thinking about cranial sacral therapy, another MNer told me all about it and it sounds very interesting. Just got to move before I source any practitioners. No point in building a rapport with someone here and have to leave them behind in a month

Chocolatedays · 09/09/2007 15:15

So glad you can spell practitioner!

I have only recently started using the current one - there is fairly well documented evidence acu can help IVF (implantation and womb lining thickness) - my lining was good but sadly my embryos didn't divide enough to test the implantation theory!

As with western medicine there are no promises -but this current one is very well read and helps point you in the right direction for tests etc - he also debunks (sp??) alot of TTC myths.

I'd kinda become a bit fed up with the other two - and really only went to the current one because he has a good reputation and is open / pro combining weastern & eastern medicine. I was impressed from the outset - whereas the others were a bit more wishywashy.
I've also been interested in sacral cranial oste (I recall someone on here feeling it helped) - but for the mo I'm sticking with acu.

Hope you get the move sorted before too long - it must be unsettling. Thinking of you.
Cxx

Hey guys

I tried accupuncture for 5 months, but gave up as it was expensive. I found myself being quite sceptical despite having chosen a registered one that specialised in fertility. I would try it again but decided to return to conventional medicine first.

I would also like to try Reflexology and haven't heard of cranial sacral therapy so will look into it.

Am day 18 today and have had slight bleeding... thinking its too much nookie as too early for implantation bleeding. Have managed it every second day since day 14 and dh seems to prefer this approach so sticking with it

How is everyone getting on?

Ready · 09/09/2007 21:55

Oops... wasn't intentionally picking you up on your spelling Choc . Honest.
Sounds like you have a good rapport with your acu dude (is dude appropriate for a specialist?? )
What was IVF like? If you don't mind me asking? I think about it some days, and if I am really honest, I am not sure I could go through with it. I used to say that I wouldn't do it. That was before I started ttc and now I have changed somewhat, but the fear is still strong. If that makes sense?

City - How are you chick?

cityangel · 10/09/2007 01:02

Doing alright off to bed

Ready · 10/09/2007 09:30

Well, that will teach me to post late at night. I crossed posts with you City and shamefully that cross was over 10 minutes . See how long it takes me to construct posts. Haha.
Sorry to hear about the slight bleeding. I reckon you are right - too much action - still disconcerting.
Your every other day approach sounds good to me! Fingers crossed

cityangel · 10/09/2007 12:13

Yes shouldn't late night post am knackered today... looked it up again and its been every other day since day10 so no wonder the linings falling out am going for the maximum embarassment factor this month!

Can feel myself getting blindly hopeful again which is silly.

Ready · 10/09/2007 13:53

Blind optimism you say? You're in good company! I am ridiculously optimistic at times. Foolishly! And to be honest, I think it makes it harder when CD1 rolls round - the disappointment is even tougher. So it seems.

Had to chuckle at your comment about your lining falling out. One month I bled for a few days mid cycle and I think I said something very similar

I can't believe the posts from your other thread - some people seem to have glossed over the fact that a genuine question was asked. Is this what competetive mum's look/act like Eek.

cityangel · 11/09/2007 13:22

Yeah there are some funny responses but I think I have my answer now. Worrying about nothing.

I haven't been optimistic for ages but am getting way ahead of myself with excitement this month

I guess to coin a phrase (and your name) I am Ready and having held a multitude of other peoples and am ready for one of my own

Ready · 13/09/2007 16:52

It seems the Chart spotters thread was not lost, as I thought I have posted on there. But I will post here too just in case. How are you feeling? Still optimistic? Fingers crossed.
