OvuSense Stories and Info

Hi I'm 39, and have had issues getting that BFP. I've been thinking about getting the OvuSense but I want real life experiences with using it. Successful and even unsuccessful stories would greatly help. Thanks all and baby dust for everyone 🥰

I’m using it currently. Not pregnant yet! Been ttc for 18 months, have been using Ovusense for this cycle and the 2 before it.

I’m a big fan. I don’t get up at the same time every day, so wanted something that didn’t require doing at the same time. I have used OPKs for several cycles, but found them confusing - I have multiple LH surges (probably PCOS), so couldn’t actually tell when I ovulated from those. I still use them for additional information, and OVusense has a little colour code so you can record when you get a positive if you use them.

I’d been keeping an eye on my cycle for a while, but I really like having all the information in one place and so clearly displayed. I’ve worked out a few things about my cycle that I hadn’t spotted before, and that makes me moe confident - I’ll be going to the doctor if I don’t get pregnant this cycle, so wanted the info at my fingertips.

It’s quite comfortable to wear, providing you do get it up far enough. Much like a tampon really. I’m not aware it’s there once I’ve got it in.

The only issue I’ve had with it is that in middle of the night confusion (women by DD1) I’ve dropped it in the loo twice when going for a wee Blush. This is my fault rather than a problem with the device - my pelvic floor muscles haven’t been great since I had DD and you are really supposed to take it out for a wee and then pop it back in. I have also missed using it once or twice because I’ve nodded off after bding! It’s needs 4 hours of sleep to get a reliable reading, so if you do forget and wake up in the middle of the night you’ve got a decent shot of getting a reading.

Basically, I’m happy. But it was very expensive!

I'm three months pregnant with my Ovusense baby Grin

My medical history meant that getting pregnant was extremely unlikely for me. I'd been tracking my cycles and cervical mucus on fitbit for about a year plus following the "It Starts With The Egg" programme for several months but was 100% expecting it to not be successful. I was basically going through the motions because I wanted to know we'd tried everything we were willing to (IVF wasn't something we wanted to do). I found it very easy to use, though like the PP I also dropped it down the toilet going to the loo in the middle of the night more than once Confused I also had an issue with it syncing to my phone, the back cover of my phone seemed to interfere with it so I had to take the case and back cover off every day to make it work. I fell pregnant in my first cycle using it. I know I can't give it all the credit, but I would absolutely repeat the ISWTE and Ovusense if we tried for another one. Ovusense actually matched pretty closely to my fitbit predictions but it gave me the confidence that they actually were right, if you see what I mean? It is pricey, but I think it's worth it! I should have gone for a 3 month subscription rather than 12 month though Grin
