OPK confusion

I've been doing ovulation tests since CD9, which I know sounds early but I'm pretty sure I ovulated early when I fell pregnant with my son. The last two tests, there was something there for sure, two pink lines but the test was never stronger than the control line. Today (CD12) and nothing. I mean there is the hint of a line there but nothing compared to the last two tests. Has anyone ever had anything like this happen? Is this common? I don't really use OPK tests so I guess I'm still pretty novice to their weird and wonderful ways! I have however, made sure I test at the same time each day. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've been using them for about 4 months and have never had the test line darker than the control. I got a bit crazy this cycle and was testing 3 times a day... the closest I got was a dark line (still not darker than control line) at around 12:30 am. Totally faded by next day. All I can think is that my surge is during the night therefore keep missing it. I've been tracking with the Premom app and it put that as my "peak".

I think not all women get a test line that us as dark as the control, as long as it's shows some darkness to it if you get me. I know there's an app done ladies on here use to scan their opk strips into to help them read how strong they are, I'm sure someone will be along soon to give you its name. It sounds like you did have your lh surge if the lines faded again xx

I have pcos and therefore get multiple positives throughout the month. All the tests show is the LH surge and not that you will ovulate, but your body is gearing up for ovulation. You may have missed it but you may not have had it too

The test line has to be as dark or darker as the control line. I did OPKS for 4 months before I got a positive (I must of been testing at the wrong time) and now I know I get a positive around cycle day 13. I start testing on cycle day 9 incase I happen to ovulate early.

I’ve attached a photo of a positive from last month.

Also to say, my lines have been up and down with the colour and I don’t think it makes a difference how light/dark the line is until it’s a positive
