OvuSense - opinions, advice, recommendations?

Been TTC for 6 months now and have quite irregular cycles. Got a drs appointment to look at my cycles but was also thinking of trying OvuSense. Just wondered if anyone else on here with irregular cycles has used it and would recommend/not recommend? I’ve tried normal bbt with a mouth thermometer but I wasn’t sleeping properly doing that as I was constantly thinking I needed to remember to take my temperature when I woke up haha!

I’m o my 3rd cycle using it, having been ttc for..... a while. My cycles are a bit wonky, hence starting to track them. I had used OPKs, but didn’t always get conclusive results with them as I often have more than one LH surge before I actually manage to ovulate. I didn’t try other ways of temperature tracking because when I started ttcing, DD#1 was sleeping badly so I’d be up in the night. She now sleeps well, but I get up at different times on different days.

I’ve been finding Ovusense great so far. I like the interface, I feel like it displays everything about your cycle really nicely - you can record cervical mucus, dtd etc and it shows up as different coloured dots. So everything is in one place. Handy as I’m probably heading to the doctors if we don’t have any luck this cycle!

It attempts to predict ovulation based on previous cycles. I haven’t found that feature particularly reliable so far - my cycles usually alternate between long and short, which I think confuses it. But, as I can record OPK results I don’t mind that. It’s really good at confirming when ovulation has occurred, which I like. It usually doesn’t definitively tell you until 3 days after as it looks for a sustained temperature rise, but I find I’m pretty certain as soon as I see the rise.

I haven’t had any troubles with results because of irregular sleeping patterns. It works by doing an average (I think it records every 10 mins) over the times when it thinks you are in deep sleep I.e. you have a very stable temperature, so as long as you do actually get at least 2 hours of deep sleep it’s just fine.

Personally, although I don’t find it uncomfortable to wear, sometimes it doesn’t stay as high as it should...... and as a result, I have now twice had to fish it out of the loo because in a sleepy befuddled state I went for a wee after putting DD back to bed and it slipped out. But this is almost certainly a problem with my knackered pelvic floor, I haven’t found tampons comfortable since I had DD and I never had any problems with them before that. Basically, if you’re comfy with tampons, this is more comfy than those. It goes in/out very easily as it’s made of a slippy material.

Basically, I’m very happy with it. If you’re happy with the price, then I’d recommend it.

@crazychemist thank you for replying. It sounds like it will be quite useful. I think I’m going to go for it.
