I got this today at 9/10DPO and I have recurrent miscarriages, I'm petrified. Has anyone got any advice on how to relax? I've lost my head today xx

@ec1993 sadly no advice, just hand holding and hoping the very best for you! try to have some 'me' time and focus on the positives you have in life right now, try not to jump ahead too much (easier said than done I know) keeping my fingers crossed for you🤞🏼x

No advice but boatloads of sympathy. I have been there. There's nothing you can do, and it's horrendous knowing there's nothing you can do. Hopefully you'll settle in to it a bit once you've known a bit longer. Do you think you'll have an early scan?

ec1993 · 18/12/2019 17:17

@lunamoon1 thank you so much. I will try my hardest to just chill out, doctors have signed me off work so I can relax a bit more.

@MsFrog thank you, I hate being out of control and not knowing. I've had an urgent referral put through to EPU so maybe but we will see xx

It can be a hard choice, sometimes an early scan can be really difficult as well. But the not knowing is absolutely awful, I've always ended up having an early scan in the end.

Have you got some real life support? Being off work sounds like a good idea, but it gives you lots of time to think...

MsFrog · 18/12/2019 17:34

Hope that doesn't sound unsupportive - I meant, it is a good idea to be off work to reduce your stress, definitely for the best if you need the time. I just meant lots of time alone can be hard, so good if you've got some support to help you through...

ec1993 · 18/12/2019 17:46

Thank you @MsFrog I completely understand what you mean! I don't mind my own company in the day and I'm happy to do some light cleaning and get wrapping the Christmas presents, I also have a dog to walk so I've got lots to keep me occupied. My aunt, sister and DH are great supports to me and they're the only ones I'm telling until after (fingers crossed I make it that far) a 12 week scan, even then I would possibly delay telling family and friends until 15/16 weeks just because of our history. Xxx

Hi @ec1993 I'm in the same boat, I've had a MMC in June and then a CP in sept and now just got my bfp, done a couple of tests a day since Saturday all getting darker but I just started a knicker checking thread as I'm now just waiting for it to all go pear shaped!

rainbow1982 · 18/12/2019 18:38

Congratulations and wishing you all the luck in the world that this little baby will stay with you 🤞🌈 I've had 4 losses and I understand that terror/joy feeling that's totally exhausting and consumes you every minute of every day. I'm 15 weeks pregnant now which is the furthest I've ever made it and we've now convinced ourselves this baby WILL make it here and we've bought lots of things, including all the nursery furniture!

This time though it's been very different because I was under the recurrent miscarriage clinic and have been on daily blood thinning injections, steroids daily up to 12 weeks, high dose folic acid and progesterone pessaries twice a day. These were all given despite the fact all my bloods were totally normal and no reason was found for the losses. I'm 100% positive it's the meds that have prevented this loss, I just had to have 3 before I could be treated this way 🙄 how many losses have u had and could you ask about going on these meds?

ec1993 · 18/12/2019 20:09

Wow congratulations @BabyB19 I will join your thread! Keeping everything crossed for a healthy pregnancy for you xxx

@rainbow1982 thank you so much for all the information. I'm happy to hear that these meds worked for you. I picked up progesterone and high dose folic acid 5mg from doctors today. I'm going to call EPU in the morning. I have steroids (prednisilone) for chronic angioedema anyway but don't take them every day. I will ask if I get the opportunity to speak to somebody. I also take an aspirin every day xxxx

That's great that you have most of them! Just to let you know new research is to take 150mg aspirin daily, other ladies on here will confirm it if your unsure and my consultant at st Mary's and the midwives have confirmed, everything is on your side, how exciting!!! 🌈🌈🌈🌈

ec1993 · 18/12/2019 20:31

@rainbow1982 thank you ever so much! I didn't know that so will take another aspirin now. Congratulations on your healthy pregnancy! I hope I follow in footsteps, this is pregnancy number 7 for me. What dose of steroids are you taking and what is the name of them? Xxx

Sorry for delay I'm not very good on this site yet! I was on 20mg prednisolone from my positive test up to 12 weeks x
