Anyone done a 'Medichecks' hormone blood test?

Has anyone done a hormonal blood panel through the website Medichecks? If so, was it helpful doing it?
I've been having long periods, around 18 days long and I'm not sure that I am ovulating. Have been to drs but they won't do tests until 1yr post TTC and we've been trying for 5 months so looking at paying to have them done privately. However I'm not sure how helpful they would be, do the results get interpreted for you? I'm also worried about getting the timings wrong for the tests due to irregular and long cycles. Would love some advice if anyone has done this or anything similar.
TIA x

Don't do it. At that price they won't be being done by a regulated lab and you'll get no help with interpretation. If you are over 35 or have PCOS your GP will investigate at 6m, if not then 80% will conceive within a year. If you want private investigation see a private GP. It'll cost hundreds though.

Thanks for the reply. What do you mean about being unregulated? Does that mean the results wouldn't be valid? Do you think I could ask my GP to interpret the results if I did go ahead?
So hard to resist as I really want to know what is going on with my body 🙁
And I'm under 35, don't think I have PCOS but haven't had any testing. And can't afford to see a private GP 🙁 thanks x

I've used this lab regularly for ivf blood testing. The results were always thorough and the Dr's report is clear, highlighting high or low radio, their relationship to other hormone levels and flagging where I needed to either do a different or see my gp with the results. We picked up a fairly major issue which put my ivf back and led to surgery, so I'd say there're pretty accurate and professional. That said, I'd see if your gp will run the tests first.

I don’t know the ins and outs but I worked in a private hospital pathology lab and we were the outsourced phlebotomists for medichecks in our area. Can’t say about analysis or the labs themselves as we had no involvement there but can say that side of it is legitimate. There were a lot of people who were repeat users.
Not sure if all GPs would take them though.

It's too cheap. The sorts of tests you're looking at, the lab fees would be likely £50 or so each, not 9 for £59. No, you can't take private tests to your GP to discuss - there is a reason why the NHS doesn't investigate. Honestly, do the sensible things - lose weight if overweight, don't smoke, have regular sex 2-3 times a week, take folic acid (the 5mg prescribed one if BMI over 30) and see your GP if you haven't conceived in another year. This is a waste of money and won't get you any further.
