8 Days of Flashing Smiley Faces!

Hi,

New the Mumsnet. Currently TTC baby #1 and using the clear blue dual hormone opk.

I've had 8 days of flashing faces now and just wondering if I may have missed my surge?

Currently CD15. Also using Ovia which put my fertile window at last week ending on Thursday.

Came off the mini pill mid September and had a short bleed after that for a couple of days. Then proper AF 28 days after the last pill.

Next period came on CD25 so not sure the app has quite enough data to be accurate yet.

Anyway, my question is, has anyone else had this many flashing faces and should I keep going with them?

Good luck to everyone x

You could have started testing too early and that's why you've had so many. They do say to stop after 9. Are you testing twice a day now? My surge last month was in the afternoon and by night time it had gone so quite possible you have missed it. I'd test for a couple more days you could just be having a longer cycle after stopping the pill mine took a while to get back to normal x

It may well be that you started testing too early and you just haven’t reached ovulation yet. I have a 29-30 day cycle and I usually get my static on CD16 or CD17. Keep testing. Once you get to know your cycle better, you’ll know when to start testing (I don’t start until CD12 now so I don’t waste a load of sticks). Hope that helps.

I had this years ago. I replaced it. Problem solved. If it's 8 days of non-stop flashing smiley faces, my guess is the kit is faulty.

@Nic555 @TwinkleStars15 @TheVanguardSix
Thanks all for your advise.

I think I did start too early but with coming off the pill I wasn't sure when to start and didn't want to miss.

I'll maybe get again this evening and see what happens. I'll persevere and hope I get a static soon then.

I've got another reader at home as well so if nothing happens this evening/tomorrow I may try that.

Thanks again for your help Smile

@J3ss86 I got my static this month in the afternoon on the 9th day of testing, it was still flashing in the morning on the 9th day, it drove me mad, but did eventually get it. Hope you get yours soon!

I had exactly the same as lunamoon1, 9 days of flashing and then I got the static in the afternoon. That was CD18. There is of course the chance that you missed it, but just a word of warning that if you start using another reader the first day will probably show a blank circle as it's working out what your baseline levels are.

J3ss86 · 25/11/2019 14:43

@lunamoon1 that's I think I will test twice a day starting today and see what happens xx

@Fredthespider thanks for that. I'll use the new reader next month if we done get lucky this month x

It's possible as you've just come off the pill your body is a bit out of sorts, I normally get 5 days of flashing so I think most people do get quite a few before a static anyway xx

J3ss86 · 25/11/2019 18:39

Thanks @sarahc336 I've read on lots of other posts that people's cycles have been all over the place when coming off the pill.

I totally expected that. Until I started to TTC it didn't cross my mind that it would mess with things so much.

I was on it for such a long time too so I can't really remember what was "normal" for me before.

I'll carry on and see what happens. I really just want an idea of what my body is doing and when as well.
