Soreness - anyone else?

Hi everyone. Please can anyone else relate to these symptoms and help me figure them out?

Every month about half way through my cycle I get sore boobs.

For about 24-36 hours before they start to get really sore I can feel them “getting” sore IYSWIM. They are just a lot more sensitive. Then after that 24-36 hour time period passes I get 2ish weeks of them being very sore, heavy and tender. They stop hurting about 24 hours before AF arrives.

I’ve read online that this soreness is a sign of ovulation. But does it mean ovulation is occurring or has occurred? And at what stage? So when they’re “getting” sore does that mean I’ve already missed the window or does that mean ovulation is happening? TIA!

Hi I seem to have sore boobs right through, have noticed today they seem more sensitive, read it's a increase in hormones like projesterone.

I guess I’m trying to figure out if the body starts to produce progesterone just before ovulation, at ovulation or only after ovulation has occurred? Confused

Progesterone increases a few days after the LH surge.

Mine seem to be consistent right through.

Thanks everyone! So would it be fair to say if you DTD only when you start to feel them getting sore, you’ve probably missed the window?

Yeah it's progesterone that's causes sore boobs and this increases right after ovulation so sore boobs happens after ovulation Smile

Crazy what goes on with our bodies 🤔

Thanks so much everyone. I also have another question! Does the progesterone surge happen regardless of whether or not you conceived that cycle?

Yes it surges as long as you ovulate, your body doesn't know that you've conceived until implantation so it acts as if your pregnant just in case xx

Ah I see! Thank you again, I’m learning something new all the time!

Me again! One month later :)
Yesterday in the very early AM I took an OPK. It was dark but not very dark (still a negative IMO). That evening about 12 hours later I took another OPK and it was undoubtedly positive with an unmistakably strong line.

This morning (12 hours later again) I’ve got the start of sore boobs, the same type of pain I described above which should mean progesterone is staring to surge, right? But is that not too soon after the positive OPK for progesterone to increase?

@monkikettle hello! I’m sorry I can’t help you with your current question as I’m not sure... but I just wanted to add that I always had the same - sore boobs for about 10 days before AF. Then a few months ago I knew something was different because my boobs didn’t hurt at all, not even on the day my period was due. Turns out I was pregnant! Sadly it ended in a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks. But I’ve always wondered why I didn’t get sore boobs that month! Our bodies do strange things!!
