Confused/Struggling to get pregnant

Hi all

My husband and I are blessed to have an 18 mo son. I became pregnant after trying for 2/3 months, so not very long at all.

However I've been trying to get pregnant again for the past 7 months but no luck! My cycle length is consistent and period falls every month as predicted - obviously I 'know' when I ovulate (via my apps)and we try accordingly.

The pregnancy was fine. Husband and I are 33 and 34, both fit and healthy. Don't drink, smoke etc.

I'm just wondering what is wrong, if anything?

Obviously I am very grateful for having my son. Even if I couldn't have another for whatever reason we would still be happy and grateful for what we have been blessed with :) Would like to just try and have a brother or sister for him, if possible :)

I honestly wouldn’t say anything is wrong. Just that it is taking longer this time. I know it’s so frustrating not knowing :/
Have you come off hormonal contraceptives?

MummyJasmin · 16/10/2019 17:06

@flissity Yes - I only took them for the few months after LOs arrival (when I knew I didn't want to get pregnant!) I wasn't having periods for the 11 months following his birth due to breastfeeding. So everything should be back to 'normal.'

& thank you :)

Are you using opk sticks and definitely having enough sex? If you've not used sticks to determine when your peak LH is occurs it could simply be that the apps are wrong and you are actually missing ovulation. Also, read up on the "sperm meets egg" method.

MummyJasmin · 18/10/2019 11:15

@lumpy76 no I haven't used them - I think I always just assumed the apps were correct!

Hmm....interesting...I will look into that method too.

Definitely look at the sperm meets egg plan. We did it when TTC #1. And get some cheap ovulations sticks from amazon. For the first few months you might need a few, start testing about 10 days before you expect to ovulate and carry on testing until you've had a definite positive test and the tests are fading. OV tests aren't like pregnancy tests, the line needs to be as dark or darker than the control line to indicate positive. A faint line isn't a positive.

I started using them when ttc#1 turns out I ovulate very late in my cycle and was missing it by 5 or even 6 days some months.
