Trying to conceive after miscarriage

Hi,

Me and my partner started trying in June last year and conceived at the beginning of November. I miscarried on Christmas Day 2018.

Since then we have been trying to conceive with no luck. Is this normal?

I'm 27 years old and whilst I do have a stressful job I try to eat well an exercise. I have been using ovulation tests to check my fertile days which I never did the first time round.

I'm also wondering if there is anything I can do to improve my chances or if it if worth going to the doctor to speak to them.

Kind regards

Emily :)

Hi Emily, I read this and didn't want to read and not reply. I have a friend who took 18 months to conceive after a miscarriage, not telling you that to be disheartened. It sounds like your doing everything you can. Have you thought about going to the Dr and asking for tests?

MrsN2121 · 20/09/2019 18:58

Sorry just re read the last part, going to the Dr can't do any harm

Hi OP, it is def worth going to the GP. In the meantime have you tried lubricants like preseed that are supposed to aide fertility? I have conceived quite quickly with preseed. First time round on 2nd cycle, had my dd. And now TTC #3. On 3rd cycle but was unfortunately an early miscarriage.

Otherwise you're doing everything right. I know it's hard seeing bfn. Hang in there xxx

Hi OP, as you've been trying for over a year now I would go to your GP. The chances are that everything is fine, but it's worth getting the ball rolling in case there are any problems.

@Emily2292 I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I suffered one in April so know how tough it is. Are you trying anything to help you destress at all? Ive been seeing a reflexologist and know other people on here who see an acupuncturist. It think we are all guilty of putting ourselves under so much strain and pressure to fall pregnant again, that sometimes it's best to take a step back.
The doctor should be able to help given your timescales, sometimes just having a plan that you are going to see someone about it can help

Hi everyone thank you for your messages! @pottypotamus I’m going to order some preseed can’t hurt giving it a try and I’m sorry to hear about your loss ❤️. @Kayjay2018 thank you I’m so sorry to hear about your loss too ❤️ I’ve been trying not to stress and I have been going to a counsellor about the loss and I also lost my dad last year which is helping. My sister in law has just found out she is pregnant so this has made me even more upset it’s taking so long! I’m sure I’ll get there it’s just a minefield of emotion! I will definitely look into the reflexology. Thank you all for your kind messages xxx

Hi Emily, sorry to hear about your miscarriage. We've suffered one at 6 weeks this July. Every AF is heartbreaking, but it will be our time soon hopefully. Sending love

Emily2292 · 22/09/2019 11:46

@SoonToBeMrs91 I’m so sorry to hear about your loss too. Fingers crossed for all of us. I’m just praying I don’t miscarry again after it’s taken so long xxx
