TTC - different dates of ovulation?

I'm so confused! I have 4 apps that I'm using to track periods/fertility (Clue, Clover, Glow and Femometer). I have put the same data into each app but I'm getting different results for expected ovulation. It's not even a couple of days out it's like a 10 day difference.
I've started measuring BBT and I've got some of those piss sticks to measure LH, I guess this is going to be the most accurate way of knowing?
The problem is that my husband and I are currently long distance, so the next time we will be able to try will be December. Some apps and calculators say I will ovulate during the time I'm with him, some say we'll have missed it.
How can there be such a difference between what they all say? My periods are usually pretty regular. Or am I doing something wrong with tracking it all?
TIA

Hey!
I found I also had this problem when using multiple apps! I only use 2 at the moment, Flo because I find it really easy and Premom because you can take a picture of your ovulation stick and the app will tell you how high your chance of ovulation is!
If you test for the next couple of months you should have your cycle and ovulation time sorted ready for when you can start trying!
Hope that’s helpful, I found myself becoming too obsessive and getting stressed with all the different information the apps were giving me

I had this problem too! Also long distance TTC.

I ended up getting rid of Flo and just using PreMom with the Easyhome OPK sticks. It was getting really confusing with each app predicting a different ovulation date. At least with PreMom and the OPKs I feel it's more "scientific" somehow! Got my LH surge yesterday and have ovulated this morning (can feel it).

They're all different because they're all just guessing! The only way to know for sure when you ovulate is using BBT and you can use the ovulation sticks to give you extra info too.

Even if you're a regular 28 day cycle and all the apps predict you ovulate on day 14, you might actually be ovulating on day 17 or day 12 and miss your window. So you need to use BBT or sticks at home to know the true date.

Thanks everyone, looks like the best thing to do might be to stick with just the Femometer app which is tracking my BBT and the LH surges. I missed testing for ovulation using the sticks this month (thanks Prime NOT next day delivery), but I've got a couple of months before I see him to get it down and figured out.
I'm trying not to become obsessed over it, just feels like it's going to take forever.
I'm only allowed to take AL during school holidays and of course they don't match up with when I'm supposed to be most fertile Angry, so I'm just very aware that our windows are limited at the moment and we're LD and we might not be able to try again until the Spring.

You're doing everything right @soshnomore
We successfully managed to conceive long distance and did something similar.
I would advise temping and Opk for a few months to get to know your own cycle and I do think some apps will then change things as they get more data inputted about your cycle.
I kept looking ahead at future months but inevitably with a few days different lengths of the in-between cycles, this would never match up come the time of that actual month so don't tease yourself by looking too far ahead.
Also just remember our bodies do differ every month. Our successful cycle I assumed we had no chance as I personally worked out from my tracking of historical months, and apps similarly predicted that I would ovulate on a Tuesday but as I was doing opks managed to pick up that it just miraculously happened on the Friday which then worked perfectly for the end of our time together.
So it can happen! Try not to stress too much (easier said than done I know) and fingers crossed for you

@Greenwhale I know it's going to lose accuracy the further ahead I look, but it's so frustrating when I have to try and plan when to go see him and I think I've found a week where I'm going to be ovulating (Christmas week) and then something else tells me I'm not! So I'm off to spend Christmas away from my family with someone who doesn't even celebrate it, and I probably won't get pregnant either Hmm haha
I guess it's just a case of what will be will be. I'll keep tracking everything and hope for the best.
