Just that really.
Is it possible to have a longer luteal phase?
Just trying to get a clearer picture of my long/irregular cycles.
Thanks :)

Not necessarily precisely, no. I've seen literature that says up to 16 days... but you can also have cycles of no ovulation. Some people swear they have shorter luteal phases - the shortest I've seen bandied about is 8 days, I think.

Roughly two weeks is generally a good guide though. It doesn't vary in length (for a particular person by more than a day-ish either side).

Nope. I have a 28 day cycle and last month I ovulated 12 days since the start of my period (16 days before my period.) I'm pretty sure that This month I've ovulated 18 days before my next period. ovulation varies so much!

The length of your luteal phase is typically 14 days, but can be a few days more or less. It will be the same lenght every month though- if your luteal phase length changes it does so really gradually over years.

I pressed post too soon sorry. The first part of your cycle is the bit that varies each month if you have irregular periods. Your body can also gear itself up to ovulate but not manage, so you still have a lh surge. It will try again a few days later, usually with a higher lh surge. The best way to tell you have ovulated is tracking your basal temperature.
