hi all, I’ve three children with my ex husband and now I have a new partner (10months) we have been talking about possibilities of having our own baby...he knows I’ve had sterilisation performed after last baby and understands we may not be able to but has anyone had it reversed or ivf? I’m wondering if I go to my gp what the heck I say as I feel silly...if I went private I wouldn’t have a clue which would be the best option for me... I’m 32 so hopefully age is on my side whatever happens, any advice would be really gratefully received.

A reversal wouldn't be allowed on the NHS so you'd have to pay for the surgery yourself and it isn't cheap - unfortunately I doubt your GP will be very sympathetic (that's why NHS don't like to sterilise women under 30) and as NHS won't pay there isn't really any point in speaking to them

Also you'd have such a high risk of ectopic pregnancy I just wouldn't risk it (ive had 2 and nearly died twice nearly leaving my DC motherless - I had to have both tubes removed in the end)

You'd be better off paying for IVF as it won't be much more expensive than the surgery itself and may even be cheaper and in your situation will be a lot safer

Hi,
I was sterilised 9 years ago and had mine cut and tied,i paid for a reversal 2 years ago with mr pickles in nottingham uk,he has great results and i fell pregnant immediately,i sadly miscarried that baby but did get pregnant again and am now 26 weeks ,if you google dr pickles {female sterilisation reversal.co.uk}you will see what great reviews he has.
