Just about to start ovulation tracking in preparation for ttc. Any advice on best ovulation test kits, apps, general advice on how to do it appreciated as I haven't got a clue!

Try clearblue advanced digital and track bbt

I use the really cheap opks off amazon, but combine it with an app called Femometer which does an auto-recognition of the lines. Obviously you have to use your head if you think it’s wrong but generally it’s been really good!

I have used cb advanced digital. Most people like it- nice and clear and easy yo read. But expensive. The cheapie opk are way cheaper. I haven't used them myself. Some people like them, others find them hard to interpret. You can use an app to help with that though. I haven't tried temping. I'm a bad sleeper so I don't think it would work for me.

I use:

  • Ovia and Fertility Friend apps,
  • The cheap pack of 50x One Step Ovulation strips on Amazon (£8 I think, so you can test 2-3 a day w/o breaking the bank),
  • BBT tracking - I use Femometer, but any BBT thermometer is fine (I highly recommend Femometer and their app, though),
  • I test 3x a day - 2nd wee of the morning, around lunchtime and then late evening. I always get my strongest results with my 2nd wee in the morning LOL

Good luck! xxx

Oh, and leave the One Step tests 10 minutes before you take the final reading. Many of us find that it takes longer than their suggested 5 minutes to get a full reading result.

That's great, thank you so much, will have a look at all of those, will try a few of the suggestions and see which I get on best with :-)

Don't need to buy an electronic one- the cheap strips are so much better. I found they were my main indicator. Temping only really confirmed for me and gave me something else to teack ( I like tracking!)

I wouldn't have got pregnant without them. I have a 32 day cycle but the strips showed that I don't ovulate until day 21/22. I was trying around day 16 like all the apps said and missing it.

Apps alone are very inaccurate.

Download Fertility friend, buy a BBT thermometer on eBay (mine was about £4) this was the best method for me.

Good luck!!

Download fertility friend, track BBT and use ovulation kits

I used the online cheap ones until I noticed the line getting darker then I would then use the clearblue to save money
