Early testing help.

Have been testing throughout this cycle. No surprises all negative until 7dpo when a FRER test showed up a very very faint pink line. Really faint and after 10 minutes. Tested again at 8dpo expecting a slightly darker or at least equal line but it’s even less. Could it be a chemical or still way to early to tell?

I would say still too early, although I completely understand the temptation! It would have been very early to have even implanted by 7dpo, let alone detectible HCG getting into the system - but you never know.

I guess just keep going, and fingers crossed the line gets darker. I'm trying to wait until 11dpo, but my Doctor has told me not to test 15dpo (I'm having fertility treatment with Clomid). I reckon I'll be testing daily too!

Still too early but fingers crossed for you! Do you have pics? Are you sure of your DPO?

JK201 · 21/08/2019 10:16

Annoyingly Mumsnet won't let me post photos yet as I'm a new member. Helpful!!

Hard not to feel disheartened already. We e had 3 cp to date so fearing the worst.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow's test. I've got a clear blue early detection one which is meant to be the most sensitive although I do like a FRER so might do both.

I'd stick to pink dye tests only. The clear blue aren't as obvious especially this early.

JK201 · 21/08/2019 10:36

@mordecaithomas agreed. Much prefer a pink dye test. If I hold out until Monday I can do a digi test then there's no doubt but I'm a compulsive tester.

I know that feeling... I was constantly testing back in April. I got my first obvious positive at 10dpo with a pink dye. I only bought a FRER once because I discovered another brand called Answer which are identical just without the writing on the test. They cost me £2 as opposed to £8 for FRER

So sorry to hear about your CPs. I’ve also had 3 (in a row) and saw my GP yesterday. She was fantastic, likely progesterone so I’m having day 7 and day 21 tests.

Michellebops · 21/08/2019 14:24

I don't want to sound blunt but you're most likely only aware of cp as you are testing so early.

Try hold off until your af due date and if you are successfully pregnant then this will be a lovely strong line.

I know it's difficult but I would rather get af turn up than get a positive followed by a negative and have my hopes crushed.

Good luck ❤️

I'm not sure I agree fully @Michellebops it's definitely important, for me anyway, to know if I'm having repeated chemical pregnancies. It's something to be investigated and for me it enabled us to seek help and to have ds1. If I'd have waited each month for my period I'd have been none the wiser. Yes emotionally less bruised but medically it would have been missed. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@JK201 this is very true. There’s nothing wrong with women having knowledge about their body. My CPs all resulted in a late period and positive text after that, so I’d have known even without early testing. But in this case it’s so worth knowing so you can now take that knowledge to your GP. And they can rule out blocked tubes, for example, without the need for expensive and unpleasant investigations.

I do understand where you’re coming from @Michellebops but there’s never anything wrong with a woman knowing her body.
