Can anyone shed some light on this for me, it's driving me crazy!
Some info..
I'm pretty sure I o'd on CD 16, or maybe 17, cervix and cm definatly doing all the right things. Had ovulation pains and slight spotting on CD 16 too. It's now 23 DPO and AF hasn't turned up and I'm getting BFN.
One minute I'm convinced I must be pg, as no af, but the next minute I'm thinking I have things all wrong and I'm definatly not... after all, wouldn't I get a BFP by now?
I have a docs appointment on monday anyway, so if I'm still in limbo then I can enquire about it.
Thanks in advance

Hello, fingers crossed you get a BFP v soon! I got mine with my first pg on day 42, despite four negative tests during the 10 days before that. Hope same thing happens to you!

I'm sorry I dont have a clue what CD etc means but I do know that I have always got BFN till about 6 weeks pregnant with ds2 even later than that I had to have a blood test to confirm it

So dont panic take it easy I hve everything crossed for you

I'm in the same boat..CD 41 which makes me 23 DPO.

Basically there are three options :-

: No Ovulation (which I think is the case with me as we are still breastfeeding)

: Pregnancy

: Rare medical issues

You are more likely to not to have ovualated this month, it is normal that most women will not ovulate a couple of time a year.

HTH and I hope you say either a BFP or the witch very soon

see not 'say'

ApplePieandCustard · 02/08/2007 08:44

Egg, peanut bear - Thanks, this gives me some hope!!
Welsh princess and thinking, good luck to you both, hope you both see some BFP's soon
Would I have all the signs of O then, but an anovulatory cycle? If that happened, would I not have either had AF or have signs of O again as my body tries to have another go?
Oh I don't know!! It's all very frustrating isn't it!

I had some signs of ovulation including a positive OPK test and yet no AF and no BFP, So I guess I couldn't have ovulated...oh well

Keep us posted and I have all my fingers crosses for a BFP for you

I?m in a similar situation Apple Pie, AF has gone AWOL but BFN!
Came off pill beginning June to TTC after being on it for 9 yrs and today is CD60.
I?ve had cramps on and off since about CD14.
On CD52 I had a few streaks of pinky brown blood with a tiny spot of red blood and lots of EWCM which only lasted 1 day (sorry if TMI!). Since then I?ve had loads of CM and have felt nauseous and dizzy for the last 2 days.
I?ve done 4 tests, most recent one last night, all BFN but now wondering if spotting was AF or implantation... Surely if I was BFP it would be showing up on a test by now?
I'm very confused!! Any thoughts would be appreciated.

PhoebeLaura,

I would ask for a blood test to see what your hormone levels are like; if AFs are this irregular then thyroid imbalances or hormonal problems like polycystic ovaries (this is very common) are to blame. Both these possibilities should be checked for by your GP - a blood test can be done to see what your hormone levels are like.

Do not be fobbed off - there is a reason why this is happening and it is certainly in your interests to find out why.

BTW there is no evidence to suggest that the pill is responsible for failure to ovulate; what it can do though is mask underlying hormonal problems.

A long cycle like this as well is highly likely to be one in which ovulation does not occur. A "normal" cycle is a cycle length of between 21 and 35 days or with a variation of 4 days or less from month to month.

Thanks for the advice Attila. I went to the doctor on about CD42 and she told me to come back in January if my periods hadn't returned by then. I guess I need to go back and insist on a test this time.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 02/08/2007 15:19

The GP is mucking you about.

I would return far earlier than January and insist on a referral to a gynae.
