TTC after baby losses and EMCS

3 weeks ago our little boy died aged 5 days old, he was born via EMCS at 28 weeks. His consultant explained to us how she thinks it was likely that I had an infected placenta that set off my PPROM and gave our little boy sepsis.

I'm looking for advice from anyone who has had similar and what were the next steps? We are back in our own county (Our son was transferred to a different County's hospital for specialist care) and so away from that consultant now and not sure who to ask about these things.

I have so many questions about what happened and why and what we can do to prevent this happening again.

Our first son was born a little early due to PPROM and also had sepsis but he survived as he was born at 37 weeks and so had a better fighting chance.

We've also had miscarriages and wondering if that was due to me being infected?

After a EMCS how long should we wait before TTC? A midwife tried talking to me about contraception whilst she was discharging me only 15 hours post EMCS (I needed to travel up to be with my baby) and I think she mentioned something about 12 months?! But I cant stand the thought of having to wait so long before TTC, especially how long it took us to conceive last time.

Is there any help offered to ensure this doesnt all happen again?
