Does this mean in terms of date eg we started trying in September 2018 so in September 2019 will that be 1 year or will it be 1 year after 12 cycles?? Sorry hope that makes sense

In my opinion I would consider it as 1 calendar year but others may have differing opinions x

squirrelnutkins1 · 23/07/2019 21:51

I'd say 12 cycles

seven201 · 23/07/2019 21:53

When I went to the doctor about it I talked about it in term of months, not cycles. Go to the doctor now. Some areas are sooooo slow to do anything!

queenqueenqueen · 23/07/2019 22:24

I've already been 😟 but got to wait few more more months to go back again. Hoping something happens by then x

I'd say in terms of actual months. I've been to the GP cos I"ve been TTC for a year but I've only had seven cycles in that time.

physicskate · 26/07/2019 12:56

The reason they say a year is because 80% of healthy couples will become pregnant in a year. That's only 4 out of 5. 90% within two years - and that's perfectly healthy couples.

If there is nothing indicating a problem (irregular cycles, varicoceles, etc...), it's premature to medicalise something where statistics are on your side...

I get the waiting sucks. And it's not fair, but waiting is the way it is...

My doctor went by months, so we started TTC last July after a miscarriage, they only began the referral process at the beginning of July this year.
Don’t give up hope though, I got my BFP 2 weeks after being referred to the fertility clinic.
