I turn 40 soon.

Is it too soon to ask GP for help?

Sick of the monthly disappointment and the clock is ticking.

DS took one cycle a couple of years ago. Don't understand what's going on.

Heya @squeekywheel sorry you are having a hard time of it. I think you can go to the GPs after 6 months of ttc if you are over 35 so might be worth making an appointment just to see where you stand.
Best of luck

Yes, it's 6 months if you're 35+. I went and was given blood tests and a pelvic scan. They were clear so husband had his sperm checked

I'm sorry to be blunt OP but the biggest factor is going to be your age and so other than the standard couple of blood tests the GP really isn't going to be able to tell you much? Unfortunately ivf on NHS is usually only available to under 40s so If you are dead set on TTC I would go straight to a private ivf clinic instead

@squeekywheel, I should have said I'm in your position too. 40 next year, trying for baby 2 since January and debating whether to go to the GP again or give it a little longer (DD took 8 months to conceive)

Go to the GP. They do baseline bloods and a sperm sample then will refer you for tests at a fertility clinic I expect based on your circumstances. Do it as soon as you can. We left it a long time and shouldn't have done. All is well now hopefully 3 years later and 25weeks pregnant, a geriatric prima gravida 😂 husband is 41 and we had to have a sperm donor because of a rare genetic condition. Good luck

Make sure you can show you have been seriously trying, take temp charts or OPK results, if you can show you have been doing your bit, it makes it easier to push for more enhanced testing, have you had an AMH test yet?
