I am joining you guys over here! Having the coil out tomorrow afternoon.
I have 2 DD's and recently got married. My DH has no children of his own so is beside himself with excitement and very broody!! I am 36 and hoping that my eggs won't fail me!
I think because of my age, to probably start with the ovulation tests straight away. I've not really had a period for 7/8 years as continually had the coil on.

Is anyone else in the same boat?

Hey! I actually had took my copper coil out myself yesterday Blush I thought we were done with having any more children but have changed my mind.

I'm 30 and my body clock kicked in telling me it's now or never for any more as there will be at least a 12 year gap between eldest and another.

flissity · 07/07/2019 20:27

Hello! My eldest is 10, so a similar gap. Don't know if that is a good or bad thing !

Hi @flissity and @JurassicShay
I'm having my copper coil out in a weeks time ready to TTC this month!
How are you both feeling?
Any info regarding the copper coil coming out? How do you feel? Have you had an early bleed?

flissity · 07/07/2019 22:36

@noodlesoup99 well good luck to you too!! It is exciting- but trying to be realistic... my first 2 DD's only took a month or two to conceive. But I am older now!! And a new partner so it's a bit Confused the unknown etc..

@flissity hey I had my mirena out three months ago after 15 years of having them (and no periods), my period returned within a month - I also had period symptoms about a week after having it removed but no bleeding. Mine have been regular since but very light. I'm 35. I got a chemical last month - which I saw as a good thing as hopefully that means a proper bfp is possible soon.

Hope you get a normal cycle soon!

flissity · 08/07/2019 07:35

@Larrydavid must be odd having periods again, can't say i am looking forward to that!! I must have saved a fortune over the last few years.. but good to hear your cycle came back and you did conceive. Sorry that one didn't take though 😔 xxx

I'm looking forward to having normal non super heavy & painful periods as mine was the copper coil. I took it out the day after my period ended and spotted a few times after.

My youngest is 4 and a mumma's boy & im not sure how he'll take to a baby, not happy I expect Confused
Middle child has sen & adhd and is finally off to a special school in September, full time unlike now. He'll probably ignore a baby untill it's 2 like he did with the youngest.

Eldest will be over the moon if I have a girl as she cried when she found out the youngest was a boy Grin

Well mine is out now! Hardly any blood at all. Was quite fascinating seeing the little coil! Smaller than I thought. Nurse had trouble finding my cervix so I had to put my hands under lower back... then it appeared.

Definitely fascinating, I couldn't believe how small the coil was too. Have had a delivery of conception & pregnancy vitamins today, they are huge. Starting to get really excited now!

flissity · 09/07/2019 20:16

I've got the pregnacare ones. They are huge. Nearly the size of the coil 🤣
No idea where I am in cycle so have some Ov sticks as well.
Just wonder what sort of journey this will be, I know how hard it can be sometimes. ..

@JurassicShay bit up thread, did you mean you took your own coil out??!!

OP posts:
JurassicShay · 09/07/2019 20:22

Yep! It was the weirdest thing ever & took a fair few go's as my strings were cut really short. They cheers about 5mm long!

JurassicShay · 09/07/2019 20:23

Were not cheers Grin

flissity · 10/07/2019 05:37

You are brave!! One of the questions the nurse asked me was 'have you or anyone else attempted to remove it?'

I'm not sure I could have grasped by strings - they were short too.

OP posts:
JurassicShay · 10/07/2019 08:16

Oh really? I wouldn't have expected them to ask that.
They were really short, about 5mm long. I was folded up like origami trying to grasp them Grin

noodlesoup99 · 10/07/2019 08:22

I had mine out yesterday girls.
It was a bit nippy, but not terrible at all.
And I've had no pain or anything since. I was on CD7 and I'm feeling amazing going into CD8 coil free. Roll on next weeks fertile week and the elusive ovulation day!

JurassicShay · 10/07/2019 09:48

I'm CD10 and have just downloaded Ovia. Iv never tracked ovulation or anything before just went with the flow last time and it took 7 months. I'm unsure wether to start now or wait a few months first as I know how obsessive I can get Grin

noodlesoup99 · 10/07/2019 15:35

@JurassicShay what's ovia like? I've recently switched from clue to flo and I like it a lot better? Is ovia similar?

JurassicShay · 10/07/2019 15:42

I like the look of it so far, there's loads of different thing you can track. Iv not used any others before so can't compare it.

I'm just going to track my period, coffee intake, symptoms & sleep. It shows estimated ovulation based on your cycles and Im not up for tracking temperature & doing ovulation sticks yet. If it hasn't happened in 6 months I probably will.

flissity · 11/07/2019 07:13

I don't know my cycle at all. Had no periods in last 7 ish years. Have the odd few days where boobs are tender but that's it. So not sure what day I'm on! Had a bit of spotting yesterday, could that be from the coil removal? Doubt it as that was Monday.

OP posts:
flissity · 11/07/2019 07:16

Just going to use ovulation sticks until i can work it all out! Will check out Ovia ..
