Second pregnancy after multiple losses before first?

Sorry for strange title.

I had many, many losses before DD, who is my beautiful miracle. We have made our peace with what will be will be, and are happy and content.

However, we decided never to use contraception again, in line with what will be will be.

There is a huge amount of research and info on miscarriage and multiple miscarriage before first baby. What I wondered was what are people's experiences in terms of a second, or third. So if you suffered a lot of losses, did this repeat itself after first baby? I suppose my worry the no contraception that I'm opening myself up to having to go through all that again, which I don't want to do. Does one successful pregnancy reduce chances of that happening again? Or make no difference at all.

I'm still very broken from what we went through and feel blessed every day. Can anyone offer any advice or experience? Thank you very much.

I personally had a perfect first pregnancy, so perhaps naively thought second would be the same. I had a mmc at 12+ weeks.
I always thought miscarriage happened in first pregnancies or until a successful birth.

Anyhow my friend has had 5 losses and 2 living kids.
4 early miscarriage (before 12 weeks)
1 daughter now 5
1 son born at 23 weeks, sadly passed away (still classed as a miscarriage)
1 son now 3

I know she would love another but her heart couldn't cope with another loss.
