I'm 30 TTC first baby. AF arrived today so going into 7th cycle TTC. We have sex frequently - probably 4 times a week which has always been our normal. We're thinking there must be other things we can try to help us conceive? My cycle is regular between 26-28 days and I'm taking folic acid. I was thinking of starting temping to try and identify likely ovulation but I'm unsure if this will improve our chances given we already have frequent sex? Any advice/experiences on temping?

Also, I was thinking of introducing supplements into our diet just to hopefully enhance sperm/egg health. Can you recommend any? I don't want to take Wellwoman as the reviews terrified me.

Thank you.Smile

I recommend taking pregnacare conception I didnt have any problems with them.

Do you use OPK?? I have temped and always will in relation to TTC its the only way to know for sure that you actually ovulated and what day etc

Pregnacare are good, and they’ll only lengthen your cycle if it needs it (the Vitamin B in it can lengthen a short/deficient luteal phase).
Definitely recommend temping as @Sparkle0109 says, it helps confirm Ov or any issues (like low progesterone, anovulatory cycles).

How do you know that about pregnacare @ELW85? Interesting as I think it lengthened my cycle

PeanutButter19 · 25/06/2019 23:35

I take wellwoman max and have been the last 3 months and find them great 🙈 I didn’t realise there was bad reviews. But magnesium and zinc is also great :)

@TulipsTwoLips - I’d read a load of reviews about them lengthening cycles before I started taking them, and so I did a bit of digging and a doctor on a Fertility app (can’t remember which one!) had written a response on it to explain what could cause it.
It’s a good thing really but I can totally understand why it would bother you if you didn’t know what it was :)

Interesting, thanks 😀

No worries! :)

I took pregnacare and DH took wellman for one month and I feel pregnant. We were ttc for 9 months and then the cycle we took the vitamins was the one we conceived. I think these really helped us.

Hi @Rosieposy89 Smile

dH and I are TTC our first baby. I'm currently in my first cycle after my withdrawal bleed last week from the pill. I've started taking Pregna Plan which is a combined vitamin tablet which has everything you need from the moment you start TTC through to breast feeding.

I hope this helps and good luck!

Another one that you can ask your doctor about is CoQ10 or ubiquinol for general fertility support. And, a form that is water and fat-soluble absorbs better. Good luck!

Peanutty86 · 26/06/2019 19:55

I highly recommend Angus Castus which is a natural fertility booster.

I’d really recommend paying for a company like medichecks to check your vitamin and mineral levels. Then you can supplement what you actually need. I didn’t know until after my twins were born that I had a severe vit d deficiency. They both have ASD and recent studies suggest that maternal vit d deficiency may be a factor in ASD developing (alongside other factors). I wish I had known. If you have a vitamin d deficiency, you need much more than what’s in multivitamins. If you have a b12 deficiency you may need injections, etc.
