Second child age gaps...

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone has any tips on ideal age gaps between children...

Incase it's relevant, we're 34, and I have a diagnosis of PCOS. However, I don't know if this affects fertility, as we conceived on our first attempt (I know that this is incredibly lucky). We now have a ten month old, and DH is super keen to try for number two, but it feels really soon! I'm just about to return to work, but am also worried that it might not happen...

Is this crazy soon to be contemplating trying?

I'd love to hear from those that have had children in close succession.. in terms of how it works..

I’m sorry I’ve not got any advice. But would like to hear those that have.

My DH wanted to know when next baby was coming as we were leaving hospital with the first. I’m thinking a 2 year gap but keen to hear others views.

I would say try whenever you feel up to it.
We kept putting it off for one thing or another and then got pregnant when our son was 2.5 and it ended in a TFMR.
Currently trying for a baby again and if we're successful the smallest gap will be 4.5 years.

I was 6 months pregnant when my first was 10 months old! Do whatever feels right for you, and accept that things don't always work out exactly how you'd like them to anyway. We didn't plan such a small age gap, although we were in our late thirties so knew we didn't have time to hang around, but it's worked out great and there have been lots of positives in such a small age gap.

I have an accidental 14 month age gap. It was super hard for 6-9 months but now they are 2 & 3 and it’s awesome. So I would say no you are not crazy for considering it.

There'll be a 17mo age gap when dd2 is born in July. I've heard it's harder at first but better as they get older.

Do whatever you feel is best for you x

Thanks all! Super worried about the logistics.. but more scared about the possibility that nothing happens x
