TTC in August Looking for a BFP

libralady · 23/07/2007 15:57

Hi,
Thought I'd start a thread for those of us looking for a BFP in August. I'm ttc #2. Have a DS of 3.3. I'm current on CD15 - OD day - with a bit of luck. Have been bd'ing like mad over my fertile days and will continue to do so for a few more days yet. Then it will just be the 2ww. Anyone else in situation?

YIPPEEEEEEEEEEE

CONGRATS!!!

How long were you TTC?

munchkinmum · 20/08/2007 08:55

6 months. Sounds like a lifetime the way that I've been whinging on.....!

Bit shocked really.

Thanks looneytunes!

Have got to dash off now - get me and ddv dressed.

Will deffo be on tonight to chat
xxxxxxx

looneytune · 20/08/2007 08:57

Well this first month alone has done my head it as never TTC like this before, just came off the pill and got on with it. Anyway, after 6 months of trying, well, you just must be SOOOOO pleased to finally get there. Well done xxx

Upsidedowncake · 20/08/2007 10:29

Well done Munchkinmum. Fab.

Looney. I hate those bl**dy things. In some ways when you already have a dc, it's such a shock when tings don't work out perfectly the second time, isn't it? At the moment, that's putting me off even considering ttc again. (Early days, I know.)

There should be a smiley for fingers crossed, Bellie. How are you feeling now?

looneytune · 20/08/2007 12:03

Upsidedowncake - I know. I blame MN for my obsession, if I hadn't seen the TTC threads I probably would have just got on with it. I'm sorry you feel like leaving ttc full stop but I'm sure that will change in time. I couldn't think about it after my operation, but by the time the 3 months had passed (we decided to wait the longest recommended), I was getting better about it and fell pg straight away. I admit that I didn't enjoy the pregnancy with ds, was worried all the time but he was fine. Hard though {{{ hugs }}}

fairysnuff · 20/08/2007 13:39

I am desperately trying to resist my ov testers! I bought cheap of ebay too so am not worried about the cost, but am worried about my mounting obsession with ttc
CD11 and my ov tests say to test from CD9 so did one on Saturday and it was negative.
I said to DH that I would leave off until today to test again but I am trying to resist as not showing any signs of oving.
V hard though!!

of these BFP's!!

looneytune · 20/08/2007 14:44

fairysnuff - I know exactly what you mean and I'm only at the end of my first month. I'm desperate for period to just FCING turn up! I'm fed up of the period pains!!!

My friend said about OV tests but I'm now quite upset about my first month and roller coaster of symptoms plus reading about so many EP's etc that I think I will stop ttc as such and just stay off the pill.

Keep reading about how long people can take to have a period after coming off the pill. I conceived straight away last time I came off but sadly MC'd but conceived again straight after the 3 months wait post op. I would mush rather wait than that happen again but the wait is agony. Ds is already 4 and half and dh is 46 and he'd really like to not have to wait too long, same as me. I think for peace of mind, I'll go to the Dr's about my family history of VERY early menopause. IF there's a problem, I want to know now and not after months and months of ttc.

Sorry, how depressing was that post - another symptom that AF is on it's way!

fairysnuff · 20/08/2007 14:52

Oh you poor thing.
I defo blame MN too, for filling my head full of stuff I really did not need to worry about.
Reading about bellies EP (hope I have the right person, sorry if not) that bd with DH the other night when I am pos not ov yet could mean that the wee buggers catch the egg in the wrong place.
I never worried about these things before!!

My Brother has two girls about 4ish years apart. The age gap is good for them. I am sure you will be fine. Hope the DR can put your mind at rest though, I agree, find out now if it is a worry to you.

I am going to be just under two years difference if I concieve now. Am I mad!? Probably!!

looneytune · 20/08/2007 15:50

fairysnuff - sad isn't it, just got off the phone to my mum and she said it was bliss not knowing these things, didn't worry about it. She also said...(managed not to cry but was hard - HORMONES!!! ).....that another family member had the same problems with early menopause....her mum (my grandma). My mum confirmed she was 29 and grandma was about my age but I was wrong about my aunty, she was late 30's/early 40's. This all scares me, it really does, I feel so emotional now [slaps self round face!]. My mum said she thought she was pregnant at 29 (desperate not to be as had me and twins and that was enough lol) as had no periods and felt pregnant at times but the Dr finally did a blood test and it showed she'd started the menopause. I'm praying this isn't the case for me but I can't bear the thought of trying for ages to then find this out Hoping to get appointment with my Dr a week on Thursday (next time they have appointments with her that you can call about day before, i plan on phoning after midnight and using their automatic system - that will guarantee I don't miss out - she's popular )

Right, moan over, back to the kiddies......

ladylush · 20/08/2007 21:31

Hello ambi - how are you? I used to be plummymummy but I got so cheesed off with m/c that I became a lush I seem to remember you had very long cycles - or am I mixing you up with someone else?

Congrats munch

Bellie - how are you?

Bellie · 21/08/2007 08:26

period arrived this morning
Not as heavy as normal, but I think it is probably due to the fact that I have been 'mucked about' this month as I have never been this late (apart from when i was pg).
Do you think that as we want to get a bfp so much it is affecting our bodies?

LT good luck for the docs on Thur.

Might not be around for a couple of days - dd is going to granparents and me and dh are going to have some time together for our anniversary - boo for period though!

looneytune · 21/08/2007 11:46

Bellie - oh no I think maybe as lots of MNetters who are on these TTC threads have had funny things happen - think we're all a bit too obsessed

CD31, still no period. I don't feel so much like it's due as I did. Not sure what that means? May start a new thread later for people who've come off the pill - find out what happened for different people.

Well, checked my cervix again a moment ago and it's not quite as low down as it was and the CM is white and sticky. Certainly more when I wipe today. What does that mean?

LikerabbitsBX · 21/08/2007 17:34

Hi,

I have found all this info on cervical position...good reading

www.childbirthsolutions.com/articles/preconception/fertsigns/index.php

www. titustwo.net/fertility.htm

www.sisterzeus.com/cervob.htm

I am ttc on CD28 so far (due on today)and always on time, my symtoms are -

Period type cramps
dizzyness
hearburn
constipation
NO SORE BOOBS (which for me is sooo unusual as I always have sore boobs b4 period)
Really tired although cant sleep when bedtime
Cervix is very high
Feeling sick at times, sometimes gagging feeling
Vived and wierd dreams

Had BFN on Sat just gone, hubby wont let me test again till the weekend!

ladylush · 21/08/2007 19:06

Sorry about period bellie but at least you can have alcohol without feeling guilty whilst you celebrate your anniversary. Have a lovely time

moodymoo · 21/08/2007 20:55

Sorry to hear your period has arrived Bellie , know how you feel .Have decided that i'm not going to put so much pressure on myself this month as I was so disappointed last month. Am sure that if we relax a little bit we will have more chance.
When is it your weding anniversary? It is mine on Sunday and I can't wait - 1st one. Hopefully will have finished my period and bd'ing will be back on the menu. What you got planned?

looneytune · 23/08/2007 09:04

LikerabbitsBX - thanks for that, will check it out!

Bellie - Join me in September thread?

Well, my knicker watching has stopped and AF is finally here. I'll be in the September thread [waves goodbye]

Good luck to the rest of you and hope NOT to see you on September thread (but in nicest possible way i.e. BFP!!)

aquababe · 23/08/2007 09:15

Well back from hols to this crap english weather and started thinking about testing again I wish I had more patience and could just wait but I'm not made that way.
done a test this morning cd 23 (-3-9)and got the bfn that I expected.
I wasn't well on hols so I doubt if I managed to have sex enough or on the right days.
Bloody tests!

libralady · 23/08/2007 09:48

Did you go anywhere nice aquababe?

OP posts:
libralady · 23/08/2007 09:49

Sorry about the BFN but you have probably tested too early. You never know..........

OP posts:
Bellie · 23/08/2007 15:17

moodymoo - it was our anniversary yesterday - 9 years. dd was at grandparents so we went to London on our own - it was raining though so went and saw a film (felt v naughty in the afternoon ) and then went out for a meal!

LT - have popped into September and now will join properly !

Aquababe - hope you had a great hol - did you go anywhere nice?

fairysnuff · 23/08/2007 18:43

CD14, just done a ov test and still negative
I am worried that I am not going to be fertile at all this month.
I am still BF DD, but been off any pills for 3 months now and had 2 AF regular distance apart.

Had BD with DH on CD10, reckon I coudl be preggers already?
Yeah right, fat chance!

Feel about negative ov test though.

TMI pos but had absolutely no sticky discharge at all?
So either not a chance this month or done it already!!? And we are off on hols next week so will have to wait to do any testing until we get back

ladylush · 23/08/2007 20:11

fairy afaik the ov tests can be unreliable. I used them for the first time this month and all negative so far (though currently cd 12 so it could be a bit early still). Mind you, no ewcm yet. Maybe you could continue to test for a few days.

fairysnuff · 23/08/2007 20:40

EWCM??

Sorry! I don't know all the jargon!!

Yeah, maybe I should just bed (I always think 'bed' or 'bedding', as in get 'im in the sack!! Every time I see BD!!) Anyway, maybe I should just jump on him in the off chance. Don't imagine I will hear him complaining!!

fairysnuff · 23/08/2007 22:00

Woohoo! Sticky stuff!!

DH has been jumped!
Now we will wait to see if anyone wins the egg and sperm race!!

I know waaay TMI but I just had to share DH's joke about the egg and sperm race, it had me creased!!

ov tests Are, hopefully, rubbish!!
