Help me! Am I pregnant again after D&C?

Hello,

I had a D&C following a miscarriage in March. I have been so low about it all thinking I could never conceive again etc.
Three weeks after the D&C I had negative pregnancy tests (though I didn’t ever have any blood tests).

We started trying again immediately after I stopped bleeding and I had two days peak fertility with Digital OPK on 6th & 7th April (flashing on 5th)

I have not had a period yet. I thought i might be due this weekend, but understand things can be thrown off for a few cycles after the miscarriage.

Anyway. I ordered some sensitive tests from Amazon, just to have in stock, but as I am a glutton for punishment and I thought I’d just do a quick one now. Got this “line” is it a Line?! Or is it my hormones messed up from D&C? Please help I am shaking!

Thanks for all your good wishes.

So the doctor did some blood tests which showed HCG 96 and Progesterone 37.

I’m afraid that doesn’t mean too much to me, but I told him I had very bad cramps and backache with some brown bleeding. He said it was now just a waiting game.

I’ve been lying in bed most of the afternoon and am running a bit of a temperature. Just can’t bear it all!

I hope everything works out for you. Flowers

I've posted this link loads of times about hcg levels. It shows huge variance in levels between people.

Have you got a follow up for your bloods planned? Hope you can get some rest x

Ideally they will do a repeat blood test to see how your HCG levels are rising.

Hope you feel better soon & that everything works out for you.

Don't give up hope. I lost a pregnancy (twins at 9 weeks) I had to have a d + c and got pregnant a month after. I took test and there was a line! I too was thinking it must be left over hormones, the gp said I wasn't pregnant and it was left over hormones. I was told to wait

I started to get quite bad pain so knew something was up, was sent to a and e and given tests. They confirmed it looked like I was pregnant but pain possibly indicated an ectopic. Had a scan a few days later. I had extremely high hormones (hcg more than doubling) but nothing could be seen in scan. We all thought it was ectopic. Assumed pregnancy was in the tube.

Went back for another scan and it was twins again! They are sleeping in cots next to me as I type. Apparently very common after a d+c.

I hope things work out for you. It's a tough time. I'll never forget my loss and the operation and all the sadness it brings. It is such a challenging time

So sorry to hear everything you have been through, losing a baby is the most awful thing. If it's an conciliation I think you can't give up hope yet. I had a d&c last May, periods were all over the place for a while got pregnant again in December and was spotting and lost that baby too, but then in February although I had some brown spotting again I am just over 11 weeks pregnant and I had a scan today and all is well. The brown spotting could just be some old blood left over from the d&c so please try not to worry too much and I hope it works out for you xx
