Can you still get pregnant whilst having a 45 day cycle?

Hi all,

I'm 18 and me and my partner are ttc since July 2018. I haven't fell pregnant yet. I started my periods when I was 9 and ever since then I have never missed one. Up until December 2018 my cycles lasted around 30-32 days. January onwards 2019 to present they have been 45 day cycles. Is this normal? Can I still get pregnant?

TIA :)

Yes, you can get pregnant from a long cycle. I’d suggest if you’re concerned using OPKs to identify when you ovulate, but you can also get a fairly good idea from cervical mucus changes (clear and thin and slippery just before ovulation, creamy afterwards) or by monitoring temperature.

Long cycles mean fewer chances to get pregnant.

However, as it’s a change it may indicate something has changed about your hormones. Have you gained/lost weight? Been under a lot of pressure? Unwell? Any other significant life changes?

Yes! Mine were that or longer and I got pregnant. You need to pinpoint ovulation as it will be later. I would ovulate on day 30 sometimes.

I annoyingly ovulate on day 31 and have been pregnant 3 times. I've also miscarried every one of those times but I still managed to get pregnant! Good luck
