Hi All,

I'm new to Mumsnet, please don't judge me but I am 18 years old and my partner is 20. We decided last year in July that we would like to start our own family. We sat down and worked things out like housing and money etc so we are fully prepared for when it does eventually happen.

My periods up until December were regular with a cycle length of around 30 days. From December onwards my cycle length is around 45 days. We have been ttc for 7 months now and I'm so so scared that I'm infertile and my dream of becoming pregnant won't ever happen. I am on no contraception, and my periods are regular but the only thing that has changed is the cycle length.

Any one else scared of infertility?

To be honest, I would wait at least a couple more years until trying. You are almost still a child yourself! It sounds like you could have PCOS, which makes it more difficult to get pregnant. But lots of women do get pregnant with PCOS. How long have you been with your partner? What is your reason for wanting to have a baby so young?

Hello Starlight,

I know I ovulate because my I notice my CM change during my cycle. My periods aren't painful, normally a hot water bottle and drinking lots of water helps me.

Me and my partner have been together nearly 2 years now and we both want a child while we're still really young. I've always been broody since I was about 15/16.

I'd try not to worry about it. Some people just get pregnant quicker than others. It took me 7 months to get pregnant the first time. Just gotta be patient I'm afraid lol Having said that, I was very much like you thinking I must have issues and that it was never going to happen for us, until it happened! Good luck! Stay positive! x

Hi Charm,

It's so hard to not overthink though because every month when I'm late I'll test and I'll get a BFN :( fingers crossed it happens soon!
