Hello!

Very new to all of this so I will just come out and say it. I currently have the copper coil- have done for about 3 years now, it's never been any problem but my periods are heavier.

My period isn't due for another 4 days and I've just got this feeling. Around day 10 of my cycle I had some pinkish bleeding and I realised it might be implantation bleeding- this is new to me too.
On day 22 I did a test and it was negative, a relief! But I'm still not convinced.
I have read alot on here about the Mirenda coil and not the copper coil.
I have tried to feel for my strings but I can't find them today, I am now on day 25 of my cycle. Is it normal that everything is a bit swollen down there, does that mean my period is coming or that I am pregnant?

Just some advise of your own experiences would be great please, I'm a bit worried and hypersensitive to everything now!

Bleeding on day 10 is more likely to be related to ovulation. You don’t ovulate until about 14 days before your period shows up - so if you’re on day 25 of a 29 day cycle, you’ll have only ovulated 9-10 days ago. Implantation occurs about a week or so after ovulation (so a couple of days ago at the soonest). Based on that, you probably wouldn’t get a positive test result if you were pregnant for another couple of days if you used a highly sensitive test.

thank you for that! It is very helpful, at the moment I think my cycles are around 28/29 days long- I haven't been logging them that much until now when I've been panicking about it all!
What would you suggest that I do? My period is due in about 3-5 days from what I can work out.

Thank you :)

Id wait until your period is due and then tear using a First Response Early Response test (they’re the most sensitive). If you are pregnant you’ll need to see your GP because of the risk of ectopic pregnancy on the coil.
