TTC The Sequel - trying for #2

Anyone else TTC their second child?

We decided to officially start TTC last month (cue minera removal which I'd booked in well before Christmas, but our docs only has the nurse monthly). Cycle is a bit up the spout. According to my period tracker I am due for AF today but so far NADA. I did test this morning, but BFN

A bit of context: My first pregnancy was a bit of a nightmare. Very sick from the very start (but not sick enough to have it classed as hypermedia) and had GD towards the end of the pregnancy, which resulted in being induced which took 4 bloody days and ended up with me getting a kidney infection, so we were stuck in the bloody hospital for an extra week. Interestingly, as soon as I went in mat leave my GD almost reversed itself and I was having hypos a lot!!

I am worried that I'm going to get yelled at again by a midwife for having a very high BMI (I binge eating when my anxiety and depression hits) and that as I'm 34 I'm at even more of a risky time. But we very much want another child. Plus DD (4) is obsessed with the idea of a sibling

@lancashiretea I’ve heard lots of positive stories about people getting coil removed and getting pregnant quickly so fingers crossed for you.

Hi all, how are you all getting on?
Into the 2ww..... I really need to be less obsessive or I’ll go crackers grin

Starynights · 25/03/2019 08:26

I just got my period yesterday absolutely gutted I convinced myself I was preggers. 😭 onto the next cycle for me. To be fair it’s cycle 3 so I’ve not been trying for too long. I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻

Morning lovely ladies :)

So this is a bit of a predicament. Currently have a DD that is 2, 3 in December. ( I love me some Christmas Babies)

I am going back to university sept 2020, I have my offer and I have firmed and accepted it. Me and DH spoke about TTC #2 before I got my offers and I back tracked saying how we I/We wouldn't cope at uni with 2 and its okay we can TTC once ive qualified.

Now I can't stop thinking about the age gap, which would be probably 8 potentially 9 years because of 3 years studying, 1 year preceptorship/working a year to qualify for decent maternity pay and depending on how long it would take me to conceive at 36.

My DD would be coming up for 8, would I want to start again - after I have just qualified and taking a year out so would have to be re skilled.

So anyway I am procrastinating.. we have decided to TTC for 3 months then if it doesn't happen between now and then, then we will re visit the situation once I qualify which breaks my heart but everything happens for a reason.

Im due to ovulate this week and me and DH have a boozy weekend away so I am hoping it will work.

Sorry to bore you all, wishing lots of fairy dust on everyone xx

@starynights

I had a hell of a time to convince my DH for #2 he still isn't happy now. I pestered for about 4 months.

peasando · 26/03/2019 08:16

Got a flashing smiley face today...in laws are staying for the next 2 nights! Argh! It's so hard to find time/energy anyway with us both working full time and looking after DS, this is just terrible timing 🤦‍♀️

DieCryHate · 26/03/2019 10:52

@peasando argh no! That is annoying. Any chance you can get rid of them to the pub or something while you both cook them something lovely Wink

peasando · 26/03/2019 11:02

@DieCryHate not a chance, they're just desperate to hang out with DS and by the time I get home from work it will be too late for them to take him out anywhere. DH says 'we can just be silent' 🤦‍♀️ It's hard enough to get around to dtd anyway, there's no way it's happening while they're here!

LancashireTea · 26/03/2019 16:23

Still no AF here and still bfns all round. Joys.

crazychemist · 26/03/2019 20:55

Oh @peasando, the combination of DC and in laws makes dtd really hard! My MIL came for a poorly timed visit too, which has probably ruled me out for this month. Oh well, maybe next month! I tell myself it’s easier not to have a Christmas baby anyway....(I’ll tell myself something new next month)

Frillyfarmer · 26/03/2019 21:17

Right - CD3, first cycle post MC. Is it worth investing in CB digital rather than ICs, and if so, which ones?!

peasando · 27/03/2019 07:08

How's everyone doing today? 2nd flashing smiley face day but as predicted, no action last night 🤣🤣 @Frillyfarmer I use CBdigital, I found the ICs too confusing and subjective (is that a line? Is it darker? etc)!and smiley faces are a lot simpler for me. Just my opinion though, others get on with ICs fine and i do end up spending a fortune

DieCryHate · 27/03/2019 08:30

Good morning! Still no more than a faint line on the OPKs, I'm on CD12 but have had the delightful EWCM past three days. Managed to get to it on Monday night which was the first "attempt" as it were, felt weird not using anything for the first time in three years! Will try and have an early night tonight as well, since my body is telling me it's the right time despite the OPKs not!

How's everyone else feeling? Have a lovely sunny day everyone.

crazychemist · 27/03/2019 17:02

Lovely sunny day, @diecryhate? Not where I am! It’s turned decidedly chilly, and I was so enjoying the better weather, DD sleeps better when I can wear her out in the garden. Useful when ttc! If you’ve got EWCM get to it if you can, remember sperm live up to a week, eggs only up to two days, so dtd just before ovulation is perfect timing.

Hi @Loti92. I think once your cycle is back to normal, there’s no reason why it should take longer to conceive post miscarriage. Hope you’re feeling ok with first cycle back to ttc Flowers

My DD has given me conjunctivitis. Not at all a sexy look..... pretty sure I’m out for this month anyway, so roll on AF and next cycle!

DieCryHate · 27/03/2019 17:26

@crazychemist thanks, good advice. Sorry you've had pants weather where you are. Agree about the garden wearing out, that's what I've been attempting today. Although he's just had a meltdown as I confiscated my sunglasses he was using as a throw toy for the dog, little toad!

Sorry to hear you both have conjunctivitis, hope it's not too itchy/sore/blinding.

LancashireTea · 07/04/2019 11:16

So after a 50 day cycle (wtaf?) AF showed you. And my showed up, is kicking my ass like I'm an extra in a Tarantino film. Seriously bad.

Booked a family holiday for August to see if the law of sod helps here.
