Implantation bleeding

I wonder if any of you can help me?
What does it look like, when in a cycle would you get it, how long does it last and how typical is it?
I had the very slightest bit of pink tinged cm for one day and although I don't know for sure I've ovulated, I think i possibly ov'd anything up to a week before? Having said that, I had a smear test about a week ago so perhaps it's to do with that? I've been looking on the internet but wondered if anyone had personal experience?

Can anyone help me either??
I have had my first period. I think, after having DD 9 months ago. ( I am BF so that is why the lateness, I figure)
But is only lasted 2 days really?
Started Thurs eve, light. 2 normal pads sorry if TMI and then very little last night and today only a touch.

Could it be implantation bleed or is the first one after birth always light?
Not on any contraception but is was a while ago
Preg test said no a week ago?

Prob wrong but maybe you could help luchinka if I am wrong
Hope you don't mind me sharing a little luchinka?

hi fairysnuff
I've been looking on the internet a bit more and I think actually mine may be ovulation bleeding (if it's not to do with the smear) which apparently is a good sign of fertility. I think I ov'd less than a week ago so that would make sense.
Perhaps your bleed is the same or perhaps it's a very light period and a sign they are getting back to normal after having your DD and BFing? I've no idea of periods after birth as I'm ttc number 1

fairysnuff i was exactly the same when i had my dd, i ended up having to go on the pill to regulate my cycle because it was 13 months before i got a period after giving birth and after the first i think it was another 6 months.

fairysnuff · 08/07/2007 23:16

Do you mean you had one period (AF?) and then it was 6 months until you had another?

I had been taking the pill for 6 months and decided to stop about a month ago. It prob could be that too, eh?

luchinka · 08/07/2007 23:24

it could be...the first periods after coming off the pill can go a bit haywire.

I have had weird cycles, light bleeding plus 50 day waits for AF.

I think it is a combination of breastfeeding with my body gearing up to ovulating. I am pretty sure I ovulated last month but who knows.

I think anything goes after pregnancy...hope both our cycles sort themselves out, sooner rather than later

suezee · 09/07/2007 00:10

yeah i mean it was another 6 months before i had a period. if you've stopped taking the pill a month ago then you will still be waiting for your true period to arrive i think, the pill gives you false periods, thats why it says on the instuctions that you should use other forms of contraception untill u have ur first proper period

Hi Luchinka. What you have described is very similar to how my implantation bleeding was for DD - just a tiny bit of pink, followed by a tiny bit of brown about a week after ovulation. I thought my period was coming very early but then cm went back to normal colour so I tested and got a positive. Hope you get one too

luchinka · 09/07/2007 18:46

Thanks KiwiEs. It's still way too early for me to even think abouyt testing and anyway I promised myself I wouldn't get obsessed! easier said than done!

I got some really good information from

forums.obgyn.net/womens-health/

there is a pregnancy and birth forum and questions are answered by medical professionals so the advice is quite sound (not that others aren't sound but you know what I mean). Its a US site so not all the advice might apply over here I suppose.

It's not particularly easy to do searches etc but the information is good once you find it. It is a bit addictive!
