Is this a true surge?

I had a natural miscarriage almost 4 weeks ago. I was booked in for a d&c 10 days later incase I had a complete miscarriage. A scan on the morning if the d&c showed everything had passed however they give me the option to have it anyway to be sure which I agreed to. That procedure was 2 weeks ago today. My OBGYN told me to test 2 weeks after procedure and it was expected that would be negative. I've been testing nearly every day now for 2 weeks and they did get lighter. However, the day after the 27th I noticed they got slightly darker again. My app shows me today is the most favourable for ovulation. I did an opk and a hpt this morning. The hpt is faint but the opk is a blazing positive. The test line is even darker than the control line! Could I be ovulating? I have had EWCM a few days ago too. I'm not enjoying not being in control of my body.

Is this a true surge?

I had positive pregnancy tests for 9 weeks after my mmc in October. Af appeared at 9.5 weeks.

I wasn't ovulating during that time be only ovulated 2 weeks after af.

Sorry for your loss 💕

@michellebops did you use opks after your loss? It's all so confusing isn't it? It just feels like the whole process is never ending 🥴

No I didn't. I never had any ov symptoms at all. At one point I thought I was pregnant again and was excited to be totally crushed with it being hcg leftover.

As soon as I had a period I started using opks. Started with boots ones then onto clear blue.

So expensive though x

Yes, I ovulated (confirmed by scan) when my hcg was something like 15 after one of my miscarriages. So it can happen ...

If you were ovulating, the pregnancy test would be negative. It's pregnancy that turns both tests positive, ovulation doesn't show up on pregnancy tests. How far along were you when you miscarried? If you were more than about 5-6 weeks, then hCG could easily be taking this long to drop.

I was 5 weeks pregnant when I was treated for an ectopic on 20th Feb, and hCG looks like it will not be getting back to 0 for at least another week and a half, so that's about 3 weeks in total. I know what you mean about the process feeling never-ending! Before this, I had thought your body went from 'pregnant' to 'not pregnant' straight away when you miscarried, it's been a rude awakening.

If they told you that your test should be negative by now, I would give them a ring to let them know that it is still positive. They might need to monitor your hCG more closely.

So sorry for your loss. Best of luck Thanks

@BottomleyPottsSpots2 oh wow didn't know that! Well there you go, learn something new every day. I still think you should phone your doctor OP and get some answers!

I agree with Mussie - check with the EPAU / doctor / the point of contact you were given as they may want to make sure that you don't have retained products at this point in time...

Yes I had bloods done yesterday, just waiting for the result of those.
