Hi lovely ladies.

I'm out for Feb as AF showed up, I want to start using ovulation sticks for this next cycle.

What brands do you use and where do you get them from? (I'm in the UK).

Also any advice will be gratefully received.

Are there any internet or store cheapies where you can poas rather than dipping? I’ve been using the cb digital because as pp said I can do it with fmu and poas rather than having to dip mid afternoon at work It’s just not convenient, but if anyone can recommend any good cheapies that you can pee on I’d be interested to know!

@Anaesthetist83 thank you very much. I do agree with you about a profiteering industry off the back of desperation, however I think I will use a few clearblues alongside the one steps until i get used to what the lines should look like. Thank you and I hope you get a bfp soon.
@hopeful thank you, I hope you get a bfp too. I just purchased some one step cheapies but also some clearblue digital as it's the first cycle using opks, to use the one steps until lines darken up a bit then use the clearblues to confirm it. I'll probably do that for a couple of cycles (if we are unsuccessful this one) until I get used to what the lines should look like on the one steps.
@hellenbackagen thank you I'm thinking of doing something similar to what you do.
@E20mom thank you I never thought of poundland doing opks! 😱 I'll have to check it out next time I'm getting the cleaning products.

Can you pee directly on any of these or do you have to collect and dip?

rubyroot · 22/02/2019 22:38

I also use on step and they have worked really well. I don’t realise there was a particular skill to getting the lines exact- I thought if there were two lines that’s it, it’s worked for me. The two times I have used them and they’ve turned pink I got preggars- though one didn’t stick.

hellenbackagen · 23/02/2019 07:28

You can poas with the clear blue but the one step are dippers....just pee in the little tin foil packet they come in and dip ....

For the one step to be truly positive both lines have to be same colour. (Or test line darker than control line)

Another recommendation for clear blue! Was trying for 12 cycles and first cycle with them and I'm now 7weeks. Yes could be a coincidence but also couldn't have done any harm. I find the non-digital are open to interpretation and I just wanted -/+ no uncertainty then

I used wondfo after hearing good reviews, you can get them in a pack of 50 with an additional 20 hpt. I've found them to be really good and I got my BFP at 8dpo with the hpt's so can attest to them being pretty sensitive. I actually used them up testing evey few days do that I could see the line getting darker.

GemmaJen · 23/02/2019 08:09

@Iilana you won't get the best results from the clear blue sticks if you wait for the cheap OPKs to get darker, as the CB unit needs a base line low level in order to understand when you've peaked. If it doesn't get this it'll just give you days and days of flashing smileys and no peak. I didn't get on with the clear blue unit and never got a peak -very frustrating considering how expensive they are. If you're going to use them start taking them at the cycle day that the pack tells you to (based on your cycle length).

squirrelnutkins1 · 23/02/2019 09:48

@hellenbackagen that's a good idea. I know I'd have to deal with WAY worse if I ever did get preg but I hate all the mess of collecting wee and dipping 😂

Can anyone add links to recommended OPKs?

Shelbybear · 23/02/2019 09:58

I just get a bundle of cheap some from eBay. Got 40 opk and 10 pregnancy test for £4.99 delivered. They are called step.

I used these last time to get pregnant. Just started using this month as cycles are 28-40 something.

This month I had some egg white discharge so used one then it was only like CD10 so knew it was too early but wanted to check was negative. Then used one CD13 again coz of egg white discharge, it had a feint line and I'm going to do one today again as lots more this morning.

A good rule of thumb is to dtd every second day.

If you really don't have a clue when u are ovulating then I'd probably test from CD10 till u get a positive one.

Thanks for the info. Will invest on pay day! Yeah that's what we're doing, every other day. Here's hoping this'll be all our years 😊 xx @Shelbybear
