Prosecco and mini eggs after TTC

I didn't get pregnant. (First month of trying after a lot of preparation). Is it ok to spend tonight drinking Prosecco and eating Cadbury's mini eggs??

The last few months I've been no alcohol, paleo eating , plus working out & swimming daily with a view to TTC which started in January. I've done a healthy regime (no sugar, wheat, processed food etc) but after all the effort I just had a night off tonight when my period came.

Am I undoing all the good or is it ok?

Absolutely ok! Enjoy :) and don't get yourself too down too soon. You are very early days yet and may have some more disappointing months ahead. It's great you are keeping your body in good shape for conceiving, but don't deny yourself some comforts here or there or you'll end up stressing yourself out which won't help.

Go for it. As long as you enjoy both the wine and the eggs.

Omg, it's fine.

Herewegoagain84 · 18/02/2019 09:18

Errr yes is fine Hmm - keep eating/drinking normally (in moderation) before you’re actually pregnant otherwise that’s enough to drive you crazy in itself! Try to relax a little.

Thanks everyone. I should add that I'm nearly 40, hence doing all I can to boost my chances. I was a bit tipsy last night and all my fears came gushing through, and I've been beating myself up a bit today. Thanks for your advice x

@palmtree80

It’s ok to indulge, I certainly need to each month I don’t conceive as I feel like I need a treat! I’m much more careful during the tww. Not sure about you but i worry just in case I’m pregnant and try to make excuses to not go out for drinks

MaryShelley1818 · 18/02/2019 15:01

I had DS at 39. Conceived in 4mths and didn’t cut out anything. It could take years to concentrate, you need to relax and just enjoy your life.

MaryShelley1818 · 18/02/2019 15:02

*conceive not concentrate!

ScotsBaby2 · 18/02/2019 17:19

If they make you happy and a little less stressed then go for it. TTC is stressful, you need treats.

BudgieBird · 19/02/2019 03:58

By all means allow yourself a night to indulge! And make sure you're not being too hard on yourself with your diet - some wheat or a sugar in your tea won't hurt.

FlyingMonkeys · 19/02/2019 04:26

I'm guessing the ship has sailed!.. but paleo, limited sugar or whatever will genuinely mean fuck all in relation to your chances if falling pregnant... best wishes

FlyingMonkeys · 19/02/2019 04:30

Sorry! I meant this month! But seriously if you've only been trying a month & you're nearly 40.. then... don't pin all hopes x

palmtree80 · 19/02/2019 12:43

SadSad done a lot of reading about healthy lifestyles boosting fertility / chances - hence my paleo / sugar free etc and have lost a stone and a half over the last year in preparation as well as having tests. I am obviously incredibly aware of my low chances FlyingMonkey. That's why I've done all I can that is within my control to at least give us the best chance. DH has also been super healthy and changed his lifestyle for the better. At the same time we're trying to relax and not take things too seriously.

We know we can't have high expectations. It just sucks. You try to relax and "not care" but of course you do. And when I had my boozy chocolate fuelled evening I ended up feeling more crappy!

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your night. When I re-read my msg it sounded rather rude! 😶 which wasn't my intervention (early hours tiredness). I was meaning after first month ttc at 40 the chances are low - not overall on your ttc journey. Fingers crossed for you for next month!

palmtree80 · 19/02/2019 18:55

Thanks FlyingMonkey, I appreciate your kind message. I think had a bit of hangxiety going on!

Thank you, fingers crossed Smile
