I just got my period after my first month off birth control pills. I'd been on them for 16 years so it is a HUGE relief that I've reset my cycle. The period I had after finishing my last pill packet was weird thanks to me missing some, so it's hard to tell exactly which day that period went from spotting to proper. But if I got my period today, then I would have ovulated on 31 January, give or take a day, right?
Here's what's confusing me: I started using the Clearblue Advanced OPK out of curiosity starting 25 January. I had three days of low fertility, seven days of high fertility, and no days of peak fertility. I quit testing on 3 February so as not to waste test sticks, and my last result was still "high fertility," even though by then I should have already ovulated and missed the fertile window there.
Is it likely I just didn't ovulate, or could I have missed the LH surge by testing only once a day? Is the test wrong, or could my luteal phase really have been only 11 days or shorter? And do these kits still show high fertility for days even after you've ovulated and have a low chance of actually getting pregnant?
(Forgive me if these are silly questions - this is my first time doing this kind of thing and I'm bloody impatient!)
