I am currently 21 and my partner is 33 and we are wanting to start a family. My partner has been told he has problems with his sperm and is highly unlikely to conceive naturally and IVF would be the only way. Would we receive any NHS funding at all as I know i am young for IVF. We are more than happy to fund privately but just wondering. Thanks

Have you been TTC for some time already?

Yes for about 12 months now

Perhaps. It depends on your ccg (check the fertility fairness website for the funding criteria for your area). To get the ball rolling, head to your gp.

Most areas stipulate ttc at least two years, but you'll need tests and these take time. The advice I s to start the testing process (for both of you, so he should see his gp as well) after 12 months of ttc.
