Am I using ovulation test correctly?

So I am very new to trying to conceive group. My husband and I are trying for our first baby. I had my implant out in September 2018 and I am very aware that it takes your body a while to readjust afterwards. I have always had regular periods whilst having the implant and apart from the first month after implant removal I have had very predictable 28 day cycles. But I do realise that all might not be regular still because of recently having the implant.

For the past 2 months I have been using ovulation kits. Can someone just confirm one thing for me please? (I am very aware that to some this is an obvious question, but I don't find it all that obvious) I know that the line darkens in colour as you come closer to ovulation and your LH levels increase, but is it the darkest when you are actually ovulating? Or does the line then disappear as you actually ovulate? On my phone app the day that it says I should ovulate is the day I tend to see the darkest line on the tests, is that what should happen or not?

Thanks for responses in advance!

When the test line is darker than the control line, it means you will ovulate in the next 24-48 hours. So it’s good for giving you an indication that you will ovulate soon, but if you want to be more specific to pinpoint ovulation day you would need to take your temperature..:
