Hi everyone

Does anyone with PCOS have any experiences with inosotil shortening their long cycles? Have read quite a bit online but would be lovely to hear some personal experiences.

I mean inositol :)

I have PCOS and read somewhere about inositol last year. I bought some from Holland and Barrett end of July and fell pregnant on my next cycle in August. Unfortunately that ended in a missed marriage at 12 weeks in October. I started taking it again straight away and have gone instantly back to my regular 29-31 day cycle.
In the TWW right now and have everything crossed this is the month!

I have been taking it since I came off the pill 18 months ago. My periods have been regular so I don’t really know if it has anything to do with it.

Although I also take metformin which I know has helped my cycle. However I’m still not pregnant. Despite regular cycles, I’m not ovulation so I have been prescribed clomid

I’ll still keep taking the inositol though, I feel I darent stop anything that might be helping. Even though the cost of everything (inositol, various other vitamins and acupuncture) really adds up each month

Thank you both

I am very sorry for your loss @LouDew
I miscarried over a year ago and have struggled to conceive since.
Am in the TWW, inositol arrived today, I haven't taken it yet as I had a moment of panic that it might bring on AF early or ruin my chances this cycle, that's crazy right???!

What are the benefits you see of acupuncture @Clarence58?

Xx

To be honest I’m not sure. I don’t feel any different and my cycles have stayed the same. They’re always 28-30 days anyway. I find it relaxing and totally painless so there seems no harm in me doing it. And the relaxation part can only be positive I think

I thought inositol was great. I think it really helps control blood sugar and as a plus it's good for anxiety too! I took it for three months and felt great on it. Had consistent cycles and lost weight (though I should say I was also dieting to try to help too). I also got pregnant with no problems. I plan to go back on it when I've had my baby

LouDew · 21/01/2019 18:21

@Nightlights congrats on your pregnancy. Have you stopped taking it now you are pregnant? Did you stop the day you had your BFP?

Nightlights · 22/01/2019 06:05

Thank you :-) Yes I stopped as soon as I found I was pregnant and intend to get right back on when the baby is here. I used the powder that you mix with water and just took it in one dose in the morning : www.naturesbest.co.uk/multivitamins/nutrition-for-young-women/myoinositol/

Hi @Nightlights that gives me hope!! Were you taking metformin too? I don't know whether to go back on met, it's harsh on stomach, but desperately trying to lose weight and ttc so probably should do it alongside inositol

Hi @agteacht - sorry I've just seen this. No I wasn't on metformin. Just myoinositol, fish oils and pre-preg vitamins x

Has anyone tried CoQ10 as well?

agteacht · 08/02/2019 21:37

No but interested to know!
