Hi All,
First post on Mumsnet so apologies if I don’t know the lingo! Currently TTC and I think I’m 15dpo. I have had a mixed bag of tests yesterday & today- got faint lines on two First Response & a Freedom (cheapy found in Asda) but then ‘not pregnant’ on clearblue digital & one line on Asda own brand. My period should’ve arrived yesterday/today & is usually regular. I have an almost three year old and I remember feeling exhausted early on with him which is how I feel now (although who doesn’t feel exhausted with a toddler!), my nipples are so sore (sorry if TMI), & I’ve come down with some sort of virus (v heady). Am I just getting my hopes up or do faint lines count? I’ve taken photos but no idea how to post. Thanks for any help/advice!!!!

Faint lines absolutely do count as long as they come up in the allowed time.

Digitals are less sensitive than most other tests so do take a little longer to come up positive.

Thanks Bambamber- trying not to get my hopes up as keep reading about First Response having lots of fake positives a while ago.

I agree with @Bambamber , the faintest of lines do count.
Here's my first test I did, I thought I was going mad noticing the very faint line but it was infact a positive I'm now 10 weeks! 😊 good luck x

That’s so reassuring! Congratulations!!!
Did you get any negatives on other tests? Worried it’s faint for the time- perhaps I just ovulated late or something like that.

I never got a faint line on a first response test when I wasn't pregnant. Was always a clear negative when I tested just before AF was due.

Got a faint line when I finally got my positive, a few days late. Try post a picture when you can.

Hope that helps.

That is so helpful- thank you so much. It’s sounding likely- I’ve got everything crossed! Hope it’s not chemical.
Sorry how do I post a photo?

Nope never got any negatives, all with the little line until 2 days later I took a first response and it came straight up. Went to the doctors and they did a test there too , the tests they use are just litmus paper so it only turns a certain colour and tbh they're crap! Anyways it came back negative so I got upset/ felt stupid/ worried. Went to asda and got a clear blue- jm pregnant !

Went back to docs 2 weeks later to confirm and yes indeed it came up on litmus paper. Doctor said I was very early in the pregnancy that's why my first ever test came up with the very very slight line- just like yours 😊😊

Here's a first response one then the clear blue one xx

P.s @Mummingmayhem if you're a new member it takes about a week of having your account before you can post a photo. Literally all my threads are me worrying about my faint little line and getting confused about how I couldn't post any photos for advice haha x

Just wanted to update in case it’s helpful to anyone in future- sadly after two negative tests today (& more faint lines over the weekend) I started bleeding so I think I’m having an early miscarriage (four days overdue). I would avoid first response pregnancy tests as they were so sensitive that they got my hopes up- now incredibly disappointed to find out that the pregnancy didn’t work out.

Really sorry to hear that ThanksI did have faint tests in September that never got darker and thereafter got negatives so I know how disappointing it is x
