This is most ridiculous question ever so please don't laugh 😔

If DTD before expected ovulation (cause it's not just a baby dance 😄) based on the fact that what's goes up, must come down, how the heck do you determine between 'that' and when your CM changes?! 🙈🙈

I have been wondering that but too embarrassed to ask! Especially when doing it almost daily!

Sperm can live for up to 7 days if you DTD before ovulation. The month I got pregnant was actually when we DTD the day before the ovulation test was positive. Some eggs only last 12hrs so it's a tight window. Within 2-3mins of DTD the strongest sperm have already found their way into the floupian tubes so you don't need to worry about 'what goes up must come down'.

I read that semen is water soluble whereas cm isn't. Not sure how true that is but if you rub it between your fingers with a little water if it dissolves away its probably semen, it it doesn't then its probably cm.

Not sure how true this is though.

I'm afraid the easiest way to tell between is smell! But also semen isn't stretchy in the same way as fertile CM, so get some on your fingers and see if it stretches for a couple of centimetres. It should also feel a bit slippery rather than watery if you know what I mean. Sperm washes away more easily as well, so see if the amount is significantly different half an hour after having a bath.

If you've DTD pre-ovulation but after the end of AF, those sperm have a pretty decent chance of still being alive when ovulation happens as sperm can live for up to 7 days. So any DTD between end of period and day 14 is potentially useful!
